How does one build a plastic ice cube containing a tiny prism, which is placed in a drink in a glass at the table, so that one might spy on the cards as the dealer’s deal them, or for that matter as you deal them? Or do you just put the the prism in the glass? What size dimemtion prism. 90 degreeis 60, is used and so on.

Can't you freeze a prism in real cube of ice, or will it melt over the nite?

George Joseph. I think, on one of them Discovery or History Channel’s TV Doc’s on Vegas tells how it came on top for a guy using one. The waitress came and tried to give him a free drink and take his glass and they got suss when he would not let her take it or something like that. might have been Forte though I can’t recall now. It’s mentioned gambling mags and sites but they never explain exactly what sort of “prism”. There are loads of different sorts of prisms. There all sorts of prisms: http://www.knightoptical.co.uk/acatalog/Prisms.html
Does Forte state in his book exactly what prism is required? Does anyone know what prism? When I fist heard of it years ago I though it was just little mirror set a right angle in clear resin. A pal of mine made one like that years back and it was crap. He did make one reasonable one concealed in a fake chip stake but just with a mirror. What confuses me is the reference to “prism”.

In Forte's book it says about one fitted in actuall glass bottom, but guy who done that had idea of fitting one in ice cube, doesn't describes it at all. Forte says that he doesn't know was it used in real game, the ice cube idea.
You are probably right with George Joseph. From what I understand, you need to be able look at it at the angle, and see things straight. So it is probalby like right angle type of prism. You can theoreticly device any prism you want, as soon as you know how to calculate it. Prism is just piece of glass, see through, as there angles on it, it diverts your view.

The problem with planting it in an ice cube is that the ice cube would shift position as the other ice melted, as the drink was moved around during consumption, and as the level of the liquid in which the "ice cube" was floating became lower due to consumption of the beverage.
It's a cool idea, but not the most practical. CC |

Plus as stated above by tommy, waitresses would take away your drink.

Even if it was a home game, it's just not worth it.

One solution is to use fake ice cubes along with the prism. that way nothing will melt and shift. you could tell the waitress that you are eating the ice so don't take the cup, or anything along those lines.

So... now, just to peek a few cards, we have to:
a. Find a prism. b. Make fake ice. c. Plant the prism in said ice. d. Plant the fake ice into a glass (think about this one.) and, if you're telling anyone that you're eating ice... now you have to: e. Eat fake ice? I think it's a cool idea, but a novelty at best. CC |

Sometimes, if not always, what we can use is dictated by the circumstances of the individual game we are targeting. One combination does not open every safe so to speak. In this instance I am seeking anything that might be useful to someone, who has no dexterity with cards but is the only one who can get a seat in an exclusive game. Moreover dexterity to a lone player, in this particular game, would be of little to no use in any event. This little artifice or similar might have been just the job here IF it worked. I doubt it does but I don’t mind testing things.

I think that ya'll are going a little bit over board. Why don't ya'll just use a stripper deck and forget about all of this mess. Strip 21 cards to the top of the deck for Gin, 9 cards for Poker on the suckers deal and when he deals, what you don't have in your hand, he has in his. End of story.

What game are you moving in Tommy? Maybe you could build one in a Good Luck Card Protector?
One time, when I was young, I botched a sleight so bad, Vernon, Marlo & Miller rolled over in their graves. But I didn't see Elmsley, probably because he was behind the others.
