Hello. I'm hoping to get one of Jamie Schoolcraft's Walking Liberty expanded shell set for Christmas. As far as I know, Jamie makes all of the gaffs himself. Does he make them before hand and ships them when you order? Or does he make the gaffs as orders are placed? If so, about how long does it take? I'm asking because I don't know how far in advance I need to (or needed to) order a set for it to arrive before Christmas day. Thanks.

Well honestly bro the guy does great work and he does do what you need. But I have not been able to get in touch with him for a while. At least by e-mail.

I would say you give him a call. You can contact him at coingaffs.com. He MIGHT have a set already made.

Good luck,

I've called Schoolcraft and talked to Mike several times and have ordered a few things he had in stock like gravity flippers and exp. shells (not sets) and I received it within 2 days!

2 Days!!! Well in that case I wish I knew what he had in Stock. I know the man is busy and I can be picky so I know that if I called him I would have him going through every single coin. Anyone know what is in stock?

***Anyone know what is in stock?***

Yeah, Mike does so CALL HIM! LOL He's jamie's right hand man and a great guy! I knew what I wanted and he just happened to have em in stock at the time! Look at the web site and if it doesn't say "special order" then it may be in stock!
Good luck!

I have purchased several items from him. I have never spoken to Jamie but he has a very nice staff who handle the call. They have been only helpful and pleasant. Anything custom will take 4-5 weeks. His work is excellent.

I might have to call them directly I want a replacement Gaff and Walking Liberty for my C/S/B set that I lost at the beach over a year ago. I still have the ungaffed African coin and the Un Sol coin but I'm just worried that the colors might not match. I would also love a Walking Liberty [ Set. Just don't know whether to get the Expanded or not. Since I really don't get the benifits of a Shaved set. But then I would need to upgrade my Kennedy for a Walking Liberty Flipper.

Paisa, I would go for Jamies unexpanded [ set which is Dean's set. I have it in Morgans and it's so good. Plus unexpanded always nests much better and is harder to notice.

Best,
Art

I post this with mixed feelings because I am about to order more sets from Jamie and would prefer that he not get A LOT of new business until my orders are finished Smile

Having said that, the Schoolcraft bunch is the best to work with. I've emailed and gotten quick responses to my questions. I recently ordered a walking liberty CSB and got it in about 1 1/2 weeks. Super turnaround for sets that are all custom made.

The quality of the set is great and I have been very pleased with my purchases from them.

Good to hear that.
you can't go wrong with them...

Recently I got my flipper broken and I had to send it back to Jamie. The service was so great and quick. I got back my flipper and it's like a brand new. He changed the old metal piece into new one (old one was rusted).

The staff also real nice to deal with....

Cheers

I ordered a walking liberty shell and a walking gravity flipper and received it in 3 days! A great product that is well worth every cent.......I have an old collection of Liberty halves so I was able to match the coins to the shell and flipper that Schoolcraft sent!

Jamie is the BEST coin guy IMHO...umm no it is a fact!

Here is why:
Take out the fact that his coins are AMAZINGLY made, Jamie is a super, super nice guy. Very down to earth, loves his role in the community and will bend over backwards to make sure you are very happy with your purchase.

I have tried every coin guy (but one) and there is no comparison in quality, customer service, and all around experience. As for the length of time. We are talking about HAND-MACHINED COIN GAFFS..I will wait a yr. if I have to to get Jamie's work.

I had a great experience with Jamie as well. Went way above the call of duty to help me at a recent convention, and then sent my special order to my home which arrived in three days. Great guy!
