I think people that don't care never had their intellectual property stolen from them.

What material of yours exactly have you had stolen?

Why are you all having this odd argument? Here are the facts as I see 'em:
Magic Makers does a good job from a production quality standpoint in making video and have the abilities to produce them for anyone. Some fine and honest magicians have had DVDs produced and distributed by Magic Makers. Magic Makers has stolen marketed material and repackaged it. Magic Makers has produced video where other peoples creations have been presented as if the presenter on the DVD had some input or actually created the item. For example pretty much anything with the name Rudy Hunter on it. Magic Makers has has no problems with ethical issues it is only legal ones they care about. That about covers it. I've said it before and I'll say it again, guys like Lovell, Wesley, and Randy Wakeman use them because they give them access to the production team they want. None of these three men are unethical or stealing material. There are those that do. I have no idea who Ben Salinas is nor do I think a sponge ball DVD crosses ethical lines since most of the moves have been around for years. Now if he is doing stuff and claiming it is original w/ him it might get interesting but I'm not going to toss him into the ethical or unethical camp just because of his affiliation with MM. Granted it doesn't look good for the home team but hey....that is his cross to bear. If anyone says that Magic Makers is an ethical company across the board they are either very naive or flat out lying. Now play nice.... |

Magic Santa with his cool and unbiased manner, covered it very well.
Not sure what's on Ben Salinas's sponge ball dvd. It's not being supported because it's a MM product and Ben, on his MM Resverve DVD, put Gregory Wilson's "Foreign Affair" trick without permision ( and no credit ). MM puts out good products and then the ones that are done without integrity. That's what this about. "sirbrad", no one has stolen material from me. No one has ever stolen my wallet either, but I wouldn't stand by doing nothing if I saw someone in the parking lot being robbed ( I was "cut" helping a fellow once...and it was worth it ).

Ben gives credit where credit is due, and never claims to be the originator. Funny you are still exhibiting a lot of bias there chris, as Magic Santa said much the same thing I did, yet you ignored it. You flip-flop more than Presidential candidates.

Brad, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. You can always PM.

I have strong ethical standards, and even displayed them quite often on other forums. However I just choose not to buy knock-offs and buy any material that I feel I can benefit from, and is not a blatant reproduction at a cheaper price. Yes I guess we can agree to disagree, I will call a truce on this matter. My best wishes go to you and I hold no grudge, only taking part in a debate; nothing personal ever.

One point is irrefutable: Rob Stiff is Ben's Salinas's uncle! Silly Ben, playing coy on that.

Ben won't say. It's supposed to be a secret. It would be like Magic Santa giving his real name. It's hush hush!!
