Hey guys, these are a few performances I did for friends and people at the local mall. Sorry for the bad audio and camera man talking in the background. I wasn't trying to have a proffesional video, just some footage of what having fun while performing.

Hey...

Nice to see some actual performance footage to specs.

I feel you could have presented the effects better and done some things to maximise the specs involvement and reactions etc, but I enjoyed seeing it as it's good watching performances that are out and about to actual random specs.

Cheers for sharing.

Thanks, I usually presen them differently when I'm doing a full routine, but these were just random effects. I know I should've presented them better. This was more of practicing the actual magic and sleights.

Ethan,

Good to see you performing for real people, you are ahead of the game already. Most youtube video's are just performing for the camera so it was refreshing to see you in action. It was also good to see how you work those in your age group, as I beleive your material is most applicable for that. With more practicing like this, you will surely advance in your card magic in the future. My biggest critique is to have your camera man BE QUIET. Smile

I agree that a lot of your material can be increase WOW factor and get some really amazing reactions but you are off to a good start. You seem to be comfortable with a deck of cards so I feel there is a lot of potential for you. Once you start learning more sleights and principles, your magic will become quite memorable for the spectators. I think you are currently doing great with spectator involvement though, so keep that up. It's becoming quite trendy in modern magic to just "look at what I can do." It's good to have a few flashy moments to show you are a serious worker, but apart from that I'd stick with audicence participation.

Cheers,

Ron

Thanks Ron. Yea I gotta have a time to sit down and teach my camera man that being quiet is part of the effect. lol, but yea, I love doing card magic. I do other stuff but cards are my specialty. I do have to work on my patter and getting the "wow" factor. But anyways, thanks for the input.

I also am a card specialist, but occasionally do other random effects. Your patter isn't too bad, so don't worry too much. We all can improve but like I said, you are already ahead of the game. By setting up in a mall and showing your effects to larger groups, you are showing passion and comfort around people. WOW Factor will come in time. I don't know what marketed items you own or whether you prefer books and DVD's. Either way, theres a lot of great magic out there and once you search and find what fits for you, you'll gain some more powerful card magic.

Yea, I was in the mall for about 4 hours and did around 45 performances. One of the nice things is, out of that experience I've learned how to handle hecklers a lot better. I blew every heckler away that came by. I even had a group of twenty watching at one point. It was a very good learning experience.
