I've just made enough to report my income and also get a tax break for my magic purchases. That's all I know. I haven't the slightest idea of whether or not I'll get tax breaks from my purchases. Can someone offer advice?

Is there a financial planner for magicians? Seriously.

Get a CPA. There is some information in the Magic Menu compilation if it is still available.

While I'd never counsel against getting professional help, software such as Turbotax Home and Business Edition may also shed sufficient light upon the subject in the help files and the included forms and instructions. It showed me a thing or two.

Once again, nothing beats having your own personal accountant available to guide and direct you. Still, for general guidance check out Steve Snyder's website and FANTASTIC newsletter at http://www.thetaxmagician.com. Steve's books on tax and financial planning for magicians are excellent.
