When I am in a section which lists a number of topics/threads, e.g. The Magic Café Tech Help Area, I want to hold shift when I click on a topic and for the current window to stay as is and that topic to open in a new window.
Things used to happen like this (more than a year ago.) but now, the topic opens in a new window ok but it also opens in the original window as well. Is there a way to stop this? I want the original window to stay exactly as it was when I clicked to view the new topic. I think I've tried all the options on my settings page without avail. I'm using Internet Explorer on Windows Vista but this is exactly the same when using Mozilla FireFox on Windows 2000. Thanks, Genghis |

You have two options. First, go to your Café preferences and turn off the "hover color" option. Second, use the right-click menu (open in a new window).
Somebody kick me off the computer, will ya?

I prefer right-clicking and opening a new tab as opposed to a whole new window. Makes browsing sooo much easier!
Magic! The quicker picker-upper!
