Does anyone have any reviews for George McBride The Classics by BigBlindMedia?
Probably like a lot of others out there, I have strayed away from these tried and tested beauties over the years and am interested to know if this DVD offers a new fresh approach to them, or would I be as well searching out those old books and lecture notes? Many thanks, Paul Mc.

George McBride's the classics is very good indeed. The material isn't exactly beginner stuff and I can't say that I'll perform all of the effects on it. But it is great to see some of these classics done as not many magicians do them.
You'll definitely learn a lot about good close up magic watching this dvd.

This is the best DVD I've ever seen. It's amazing! Whoever put this thing together deserves lavish praise. From the effects to the menu's to the artwork to the super-cool way it was shot - it wins in every category. I honestly don't think you'll ever need another DVD if you get just this one!
'Course...ahem...I'm biased! Seriously folks. If you like the first one, you'll LOVE this one. There's a lot more coin material on this volume for all you coinies out there including one of my favourite coin tricks of all time (since George showed it to me!) Ross Bertram's Coins Across! It's awesome!!!! And, cardies, you need to see 'Merlins Lost Aces' - it's sublime and the explanation may make you feel a little sick! Dave.

What's the music used for the menus on both of the George McBride DVDs?
I really dig that music. (Seriously. Did you guy compose it in-house?) The DVDs are superb, BTW -- some serious moves. Great to watch. |

Boinko,
I think Owen may have composed that music himself. I'll ask him. Glad you like the DVD's! Dave.

Owen did compose the music. I told him that I really dug it and that the opening guitar riffs reminded me of The Cure. He wasn't too thrilled with that as his band was METAL!!!
Seriously, though, the music is great. Owen knows his music and puts some really kick butt tunes on the BBM releases. And the magic isn't too bad either...

Boinko - you are too kind sir! the music from 'george McBride the classics' was a demo version of a tune for my old band (earthtone9). I spent an entire two month tour of europe with a 4 track, a drum machine, a POD (guitar amp emulator) writing various ditties. most of it never got used for the band... but it found a loving home on Bigblindmedia DVDs!!!
indeed, you can hear two tracks on the forthcoming DVD project called 'THE OMEGA MUTATION'... this also features exclusive tracks from rock bands Slaves To Gravity, Johnny Panic, Standing Dead Centre and This Is Menace! the soundtrack to this 3 disc set is almost as awesome as the magic. HA! but more about that later... |

If I ever do a dvd with BBM, I hope it is shot in the same style. Underground with kick *** guitar riffs, who wouldn't want that. As far as I am concerned BBM is the new standard for dvd production. Bloody Scots are taking over!!!

My dark red beard can attest to the fact that I've got some scottish/irish heritage.

The music for "The Omega Mutation" is gonna rock hard! Hopefully the magic will stand on its own as well
But back to the McBride dvd... which is really great btw. It's rare to see someone make hard core sleights look so effortless. Not that the stuff is impossible, mind you. It's just that George performs it so smooooothly.

I realllly enjoyed this DVD, more so than McBrides other DVD. Here is a question I have. Is McBride a lil' tiny guy or is David Forrest a giant?
As for this DVD I'd rather see good solid classics of magic than bad original material. |

I don't have these(yet), but I'm sure there top notch.
Speaking of music, David Forrest 4xFour dvd got me to crank up the speakers and finaly had to put on the headphones(lol). |
