I've been looking for a pocket prop organizer for jacket pockets.
Does anyone know where one is already available, or will I just need to make one?

I built an item a bit like that, but I never use the darn thing. It doesn't increase pocket space by enough to be worth using, nor does it allow you to use the jacket's existing pockets.

I'm trying to find something that I can put into my jacket's side and inner pockets to organize props.

Check with Carl Andrews. He makes something called the "pocket pocket" which is great.

I'll pick one up to see if I like it. I've heard a lot of good about it and it's just $10, so why not.

I have used Klamm's pocket organizer for years. I actually have three of the critters. Each one remains permanently loaded with an entire (almost) close up act. They are inexpensive, well made and versatile. They are designed to organize props in a jacket pocket.

I store the loaded organizer in a large zip-lock freezer bag that is labeled with the contents (and also has an inventory card inside with the props) between uses (thanks Billy McComb).

Basically the organizer is designed for use in your side jacket pocket but can also be used for cummerbunds too (and I know one female magician who has one installed in a small purse).

It has:

4 large compartments for playing cards (packet tricks), silks, sponge balls, etc.

6 small compartments for coins, dice, miniature cards, and the like.

4 very small compartments along the bottom for narrow long things like color-changing knives, thumbtips, etc.

It is sewn in two halves and the center section can act as a "normal" pocket.

This center section will hold a deck of cards or can be propped open a bit to hold sponge balls, a large ring, whatever. I sewed a full deck card index into the center of one of mine.

This costs about $10.00 USD from http://www.Klamm-magic.com

That sounds like the one.
I'm getting both to see how it goes, but the Klamm organizer sounds like the thing I need.

Well My mom is going to sew in pockets for me so I can ditch my TT when done and for coins. Instead of spending up too 20.00$ or more buy some fabric and sew in your own custom pockets! If you find a good org. for under 10.00$ than go ahead and buy it .

I have custom pockets sewn into my vests, but they aren't for close-up. The lining of the jackets I use isn't heavy material, so I don't want to rist a pressure tear.

Thanks for the suggestion Harry. I think I'll look into one of the Klamm Magic pocket organizers as well. Here is the exact link for it:

I like the aspect of being able to discern the side of a color changing knife without looking. I din't use color chaning knives, but I have several other items with a similar restriction, so that's a big plus.

Call me crazy, but if you guys need a special pocket organizer when you're working close-up, you've got too much crap in your pockets. I do 4 hours of strolling loaded like this...deck of cards left jacket pocket, coin purse, (it's double sided, one trick in each side) one loose chinese coin in the same pocket I can grab easily, a wand and marker in my left inside jacket pocket, egg bag in right, rear pants pocket holds wallet for card to wallet, left back pocket occasionally holds 2 pieces of fruit for final loads. When I'm finished with everything it goes back in the same place. I keep an extra deck of cards stashed at the bar in my bag.

"You're crazy" - now that that's out of the way. . .

I carry different items for different routines, so my list of props would depend on different factors. The reason I have need of an organizer isn't because I have too much stuff, it's because I keep some of my pockets free all of the time, hence increasing the concentration of "stuff" in other pockets.

My right jacket pocket typically stays clear as well as my left pants pocket, both for ditching and holding things like card boxes while I use the cards.

"Different strokes for different folks" as they say.

Yep...you're crazy! OK, OK...just kidding.

Me? I just like collecting more "stuff" and adding it to the other "stuff" I already have. You can't ever have too much "stuff." There's always that one little spot that can hold even more "stuff." Might not be able to get the door open, but that's where all the "stuff" is.

I looked around and found this organizer on a medical supply site:
Pocket Pal II

Looks like it might be pretty good.

The "pocket-pocket" arrived today; and with the combination of the two, I think I have what I need.

I'm still in the process of re-working a few routines and changing different aspects of my pocket management, but with these new resources it looks promising.

Thanks to everyone who contributed.

I worked out the idea of the Pocket-pocket holding all of my TT items and the pocket organizer handling coins and card gimmicks.

My deck will be in a cell phone holder on my hip (brown leather with a magnetic closure), my card to wallet is holding up in my right pant pocket. I have a few "single-use" card effects in one of my jacket's inner pockets assorted other things spread around.

My routines are still in the reworking process, so I'm still adding effects.

I cancelled my order for the Pocket Pal II when I got an email that the order needed to be backordered.

I then went to a "Scrubs" location and bought the exact same items (they cost more, but I get them now and without shipping).

Long story short, these are pretty cool. If you use a long card, the pocket pal's top pocket is EXACTLY the same width as the long card - like it was custom made. It can also hold a sharpie or two, business cards, and a packet trick if you like. All in one inside jacket pocket - what a deal!

Between "Pocket Pocket" the Klamm Magic Organizer and the Pocket Pal, I hit the pocket management jackpot!

Thanks for helping me out guys.
