Banachek PK Silverware,
Subterfuge, TT, Liquid Metal, The Bat.. There are the best purchases I have ever made. I use each item everytime I do magic. I can do hours of effects using these four items. |

This is a very tough subject due to having a lot of effects I enjoy using, but as for mentalism goes I love Tony Corinda's 13 Step to Mentalism, Max Maven's Prism /The Color Series of Mentalism , Practical Mental Magic by Theodore Annemann, Mind, Myth and Magic by T.A. Waters, Banachek's Psychological Subtleties, Psycho-Mancy by David Britland, and Pure Effect by Derren Brown are probably the most important of all my mentalism purchases. But as far as magic effects are concerned, I would say the majority of places I started out learning magic from are actually from pretty-old books like Professional Magic for Amateurs by Walter B. Gibson, The New Book of Magic Professor Paradise Assisted by Joseph Leeming, How to Entertain Children with Magic You Can Do by The Great Merlini, Mark Wilson's Complete Book of Magic, The Blackstone Book of Magic & Illusion, The Magic Book by Harry Lorayne, Bill Severn's Big book of Magic, The Amateur Magician's Handbook by Henry Hay, The Magic World of Amazing Randi, ect. The list really goes-on from their!!

I would love to chime in on a few of my favorites:
Mental Card Cube Mystery-Malloy (Easy principals combined to perfection) Trilogy-Casewell (Finally, you pay a lot of money for a trick and don't get ripped off!) A Stab in the Dark-Lonnie Chevrie (Vol. 1) (He's a personal friend and mentor in my hometown. Just wait until he releases some of his new stuff!!! Awesome!!) Breakthrough Card System-Osterlind (Wow!!! Too cool!!!) Chronologue (For Stage or Parlor)-Cassidy (As one audience member said out loud, "That's Scary Good!" Fate (Stage or Parlor)-Maue (Maybe there is such a thing!!!) Double Back-Allen (I know, I know, the original is still great!!!!) Just a few to consider!!!! |

One I bought a loooong time ago is still my best trick... Professor's Nightmare. To the layman who has never seen it, Professor's Nightmare is surprising, visual magic happening right before their eyes.

Hobson Egg Bag....Although to refer to it as a 'trick' is not accurate. It is a well thought out professional tool that allows one to create a personalized routine.
Thank God it is high priced as far as egg bags go. |
