TwoCan,
I'm surprised you would ask a question like that. In your tag line, you've got a web site called http://www.closeupcoinmagic.com. And you're apparently a Johnson Products Distributor. If anybody would know, You'd think it would be you. No? Jim |

Not the silver coin sets. They will not sell wholesale on those items so unless I want to buy for myself I have never picked any up. The wholesale prices are for regular items but not the silver.

I have the Johnson Morgan Shell. It is pretty good. But it does not cover enough of the coin to suit me. For doing Geoff Latta's trick with three coins, for example, it is perfect. But if you were going to put it into someone's hand or have it seen close up it might get busted. I have not been busted but I am keeping the coins up and in parlor type routines.
If I figure out how to post a photo I will show it. John

I use a morgan Silver Dollar by Johnson's and have had no problems with it at all.
It has served me well for over 12years or more. I liked the Morgan more than the peace dollars. Mobius |

The Morgan is really a classic; it has to be one of the most beautiful coins ever minted in the US.

The older Morgan's allow you to have a coin that is much softer than the Peace dollars, which is crucial in some routines...I don't think Johnson uses the older Morgans however.

I had heard of the problems with the Dollar shells, but I went ahead and got the 1972 Eisenhower Dollar Shell. I was amazed at the deceptiveness...it fooled ME!
Looking edge-on, well, it's not perfect, but in the HAND, looking down on it, or on the close-up pad (makes no difference), you cannot tell the shell! A friend in magic looked at the line-up, and got it on the 2nd guess...he had to LOOK for it, though. Maybe I got lucky, I don't know...it did cost $50, and I was going to be very stern about the quality...if it didn't look right, I was told to return it for a full refund. Happily, I didn't have to! I've always believed in Johnson, and they've NEVER let me down. Doug |
