It looks really great !!
Really impressed by the height of your rising... Could it be done surrounded ? How fast is the set up ? What would be the cost ? Will look forward for sure, Thanks, |

Beautiful! Love it, looks excellent, definitely something I will consider. Most self levitations are crap, but this one has a really elegant look and feel to it.

It does look good. The cost on Hocus Pocus is $1,495.
I would kick myself if I ordered this and recieved a pair of plastic legs! Yes,I would kick myself with the plastic legs!

The one that I see on Hocus Pocus is the Magellan Witch Levitation, which levitates an assistant.
The one on the video in this thread is a different levitation called the Magellan Solo Levitation where the magician can levitate himself. These are different levitations from the same product line. I don't know if pricing for the Solo is out yet.

Hi everyone,
Yes, there are no plastic legs. I will put up the website soon. I'll put it at this link. Thanks to Scott for his input on this, and for fabricating one for me, in exchange for our collaboration. The one on the website is the Magellan Witch, this is the Magellan Solo. Next up: The Magellan Sohigh. Seriously, I'm not kidding. Imagine, the Solo, but rising to a total of almost 3 feet. http://www.jimmyfingers.com/magsolo.htm Give me a few hours, and I'll have a little somethin up for you. Jimmy |

Oh, also, in answering your questions, it can't be done surrounded, but the angles are pretty good.
I don't understand your question about "how fast is the setup?", but there's really not much setup. There will be subtlety or knowledge of your stage to help you get into position with the gimmick, but all you do is get into position and you're ready to go. The price is currently the same as the Magellan Witch Levitation, $1495 plus shipping. I'm assuming that Paul at Hocus-Pocus is going to want to offer this one, too, because he was so thrilled to offer the witch. This one seems to be getting more attention than the witch, and that 'elegance' that was mentioned in a post above really does seem to have an appeal here. Thanks for your responses, I hope to have all of you see this live at some point, and I'll try to get a better video tomorrow. JF |

Corey,
I feel the same way about King Rising... King rising is one of the ones that, when you know how it works, you're left more inspired and impressed than before you knew. Most methods are a letdown, Corey's is literally uplifting! Great magic is clever, not contrived. To have kudos from a levitation master like Corey is the ultimate payment for my art. Thank you so much, Jimmy Fingers |

Going up to the ceiling is just the most amazing demo I've ever seen. I just wish I had the money.

Unfortunately, I will no longer be building the Magellan Sohi illusion for sale. The cleanup and the size have made it prohibitive for use in most real world performance situations, and it's only real value is as a stage illusion. However, the difficulty finding a welder to build these has been another huge obstacle. The welders are quite unreliable, and they seem to have no concept of a deadline or an agreement on their fees.
That being said, the exciting news is that the Magellan Solo has risen again, somehow, from the ashes. I've made some adjustments and some improvements to make it the more stable, workable solutions of the three Magellan props. I've been getting rave reviews from my Research and Development team, and the Solo seems to be better hidden, better transported and better received. When performed for the same audience that had seen the Sohi previously, they thought that it was the same effect. They noticed no difference, even when confronted with the 6" height difference. I would like to change the pricing of the Solo to $995 in an attempt to stimulate sales and a possible renewed interest. The thousand dollar mark seems to be the price point for this type of illusion. Thanks for everyone's continued support, hopefully this will be offered at an amount that will make it accessible to everyone who has had an interest in it! Jimmy http://www.jimmyfingers.com |
