Why are you posting to me? Get your parent to post to me, I don't want post directed to me by minors, inparticularly disturbed ones who wear berets. It is just the way I roll... (note I am using hip jargon in an attempt to communicate with the child)

That's rather condescending and discriminatory.

Anyways, back on topic! Favourite albums, songs?

No, it isn't condensending. I don't associate with underage people because they are underage children. You cannot sign a contract, you cannot vote, you are the property of your parents. I wonder about adults who associate with children who are not theirs or not their students. When you are 18 and can legally be beaten with a beret that is another story.

I do find that odd. We are not objects, we are also people. ANYWAYS, Springsteen...

You are the property of your parents. They are responsible for your behavior. If you go out and steal a pair of chaps and biker cap, they are held accountable. You have already been informed what Springsteens best album is, the name of his second band, his first was the Castiles, and I'm now telling you he signed a very crappy contract which cost him a fortune and kept him from recording for years. Another interesting thing is while writing about driving he didn't know how to drive.

I would like Springsteen, if his music didn't suck so much.

There was a time I wasn't a Matt Colman fan. Then he was conceived.

Reason being? His newest album is excellent! But of course, Born To Rumn still remains as one of the greatest, if not the absolute greatest Springsteen album.

I agree with you Josh the boss is no Michael Bolton, or Barry Manilow.

Rod Stewart should do a tribute album to Barry Manilow.

Rod Stewart is too busy scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Michael Bolton just isn't the same since he got rid of his comb over haid doo.

Seriously Josh did you ever notice that all fat girls like the same music?

Springsteen benifited from the popular 'singer songwriter' craze in the early seventies, same as Waylon Jennings and others. It didn't matter if they could sing or not people wanted to hear the writer sing his/her music. Bob Dylan was popular before because he rode the folk craze and Dylan actually, when not impersonating Woody Guthrie, can sing.

I think all you Springsteen fans should go and watch an opera.

Then you'll love him more.

I remember a Saturday Night Live skit where Bob Dylan visited a dying Woody Guthrie. Bob's guitar said "This machine kills facists TOO!" During their talk, everything Woody said turned out to be an inspiration for one of Bob's songs. At the end of the skit, Bruce came in with a guitar that said; "This machine kills facists too TOO!" and got into an argument with Bob. All of Bob's lines turned out to be Bruce song quotes!

I guess I'd have to see the skit to get the humor. Actually Dylan spent many days at Woody's hospital bed in his last days and kept him company. Woody was a huge influence on Dylan and while folkies were shocked (ha!) when Dylan went electric what they didn't know was Dylan was just returning to his roots, which were in rock not folk.

WOW Santa
You actually read the Anthony Scaduto biography of Dylan, I read it in the 70's too. I especially enjoyed the part where he met Arlo in the hospital and taught how to play the harmonica upside down.

Yeah....I love Dylan. Saw him play in Berkeley with Tom Petty (great show) and with the Dead in San Francisco (bad show). If Dylan comes out with a CD using the world Magic in the title he'd get at least one younger fan.

I enjoy all of them even though my evil wife tossed my Bob Dylan CDs out of the window while driving over the Sierra Nevadas because I refused to let her listen to her drivel! Since I'm not allowed to do impersonations in the car, or pretend rainbow trout are speaking to my wife, I am not allowed to listen to Dylan or Springsteen when the wife is around. I still vent the fish though and she has arguments with them.....
