Ok, I got myself a wireless headset mic. It has a reciever. The instrucions say it requires an amplifier.

I went to the guitar store for an amplifier, and they told me a guitar amp would not work.

What do I need in order to use this? I would like to put this to a set of speakers or an auditoriums sound system.

Hi, Matthew!
The easiest solution is what's called a "powered speaker". That's a few different things, all in one piece. It's a pre-amp (that's the part with the volume control), the amplifier, and the speaker. It APPEARS to just be a speaker with a couple of connectors and a volume control, but it really is three components in one. You'll also need a tripod stand to put it on.

Make sure that the speaker is always above the heads of your audience members, and make sure that, when your mic is turned on, you can never see the front face of the speaker.

When you're ready for more information, check out my Web site (in my signature), and go to AUDIO>SPEAKER PLACEMENT.

Cheers from Toronto!

A guitar amp does work. I have used guitar amps and various PA Systems, etc.
A keyboard amp works really well also.

Get a JBL EON 10 G2. I have two and love them.
