Ed Harris was a big part of the magic scene in the 1950's, even though he was not a magician. His comic Chalk-Talk Trickartoons were used by many magicians, and almost everyone at the time had some clip-art he created on their business cards, catalogs and brochures.

I think he belongs in the Brief Biographies of Magic Inventors on my site, but I can't find any biographical information on him. If anyone can help fill in with his life and accomplishments, I'd appreciate it.

You may already know that Eric Paul has all of his stuff...He might be able to help you out. I would be curious to know more about him as well. I think I bought a copy of every chalk-talk booklet Mr Harris printed. I never really got around to incorporating chalk talk...I still think its a great idea, especially for kid shows.

I have one of the

I have one of the easel stands that Ed used to sell. I can't remember why I bought it or what I originally used it for, but it's lying in storage.

A complete listing of Ed's chalk talk books can be viewed at the first link and will eventually be available for free download (with permission of the copyright holder):

Also, a new forum for chalk artists is now online at

http://thechalkloft.heavenforum.com/index.htm

There is a topic there called Lightning Cartoon Stunts. It's under the category called NOT QUITE CHALK. Drop over for a visit and share your thoughts!

Best,
Kerry
