Need some help on deciding which to get either trilogy by dan and dave or past midnight by benjamin earl. Both look really good, but which one do ya'll think gives you the most for your $$$ and the best tricks? Eventually will get both but can't afford right now! Thanks

I think Ben Earls DVD gives you the most $$$ and best tricks. Dan and Daves material is great, don't get me wrong, however, I feel when people watch it, it LOOKS like Sleight of hand and not Magic, whereas some of Ben's material LOOKS like real Magic, and feels like it

I have enjoyed and gotten a lot more from 'Past Midnight' than 'Trilogy'.
Both excellent though. |

350ztt,
These guy are so different in style, it depends on what you really want and enjoy. The Buck brothers favor a very flourishy style which is stupendous to say the least. The Trilogy is their latest and if you like that style of card handling you will be very pleased indeed. By contrast Ben Earl's style is more traditionnal and down to earth. Oh he can still used a flourish now and then, in fact he teaches a few in his DVDs but in my opinion he is more of the traditionnal school which is perfect for me but is it perfect for you? It is for you to decide! Yves |

Trilogy is a better watch but AM will probably give you more things you can use immediately.
Depends on what you're after. Both are valuable additions to my library. Trilogy is more about playing with cards in your bedroom on your own whereas Ben's material can only truly be learned by practicing the routines in front of an audience. |

I don't have Trilogy, however Past Midnight is one of my favorite DVD sets.

I completely agree with Christopher here! Dan&Dave "looks" like you're doing sleight of hand... With Ben Earl, it seems more "magical". Furthermore, depending on your skill, some tricks on Trilogy are quite hard to master and are really angley... Even if Trilogy IS a good set... And, oh, Past Midnight gives a wider variety of effects whereas Trilogy gives a LOT of sleight of hands techniques, flourishes and routines (I hope it's clear...). But, again, there are very good things on Trilogy.

I have both and if you're looking for great ideas, new techniques and baffling effects, go for Benjamin Earl's "Past Midnight" with your eyes closed.
If, on the other hand, you're looking for a pretty nice collection of knuckle-busting flourishes and visual pirouettes with a pack of cards, your choice is Dan & Dave's "Trilogy". That's it.

If you want magic you can and will do Past Midnight. Trilogy is card juggling.

Today is my birthday, I am going to shoot for Past Midnight today. I have the Trilogy and the card magic is alright but I think Past Midnight will be better for card magic. Trilogy is more flourishy, quick tricks.

As everyone's said before, they are two different dvd's for different kinds of performances. I have both and find myself using more material from Past Midnight:)
