Take it or leave it, this is the truth. CC |

Craps is a yankee game. Nobody plays craps in Europe, neither in casinos (ok there are maybe one table in MonteCarlo or in London) or in the streets. I don't really see the point for us Europeans to learn cheating at this game. For skill exhibition ok, but for a hustling career....
Better to learn cheating moves with cups for playing backgammon. |

Mr. Z and CC is absolutely correct in what they just told you but let me tell you something that proceeds this. When you start learning how to play craps etc. especially in the streets, you are going to get robbed by sucker and proposition bets at first.
Example: A guy says to you "I bet the dice don't throw over 7?" You say "okay" you or someone throws the dice and the dice roll come out is 7 (Bam!) you lose. Why? Because the dice did not throw over 7. You thought you had a 50/50 chance but you didn't, it was a 60/40 chance in favor of the hustler. Am I correct in saying this...Yes and No. Why? Yes these are the odds but there's a catch. What if the person throwing the dice threw over a 7 and threw an 8 or better, the hustler still win. Why? He doesn't have to pay you so he keeps his money. Why? You never confirmed the bet by saying "that's a bet.'. What? That's right. He opened the bet but you never closed the bet by saying it's a bet. You said "okay" and that doesn't mean jack in a street craps game. Bottom Line: Win money in the card games that you will be playing first and then take a little of that money and give it away while trying to learn how to play craps like Mr. Z and CC said because this is a survival of the fittest world and they will not give you a break. Oh by the way where are you going to get the gaffed dice that you are going to be switching into a game in order to win because you don't have to switch dice in order to do a control shot? Learning dice moves and not knowing how to apply them in a game is like learning how to kick and throw punches in karate but never sparring to learn how to block and use it. Take Care, Doc |

Having a knowledge of, and being a regular player in the games you plan to cheat in is a given.
Then learning ways to take the gamble out of the game is the next step. When I first started learning dice moves I had already been playing craps and cee-lo, as well as some other games, for years. |

Burton Williams Dice: Squares Tops and Shapes (thanks so much Jason)... and for the dice cup: Eddie Fechter has a book called Dice Holdout Methods For Magicians. Don't let the "M' word turn you.
Scarne on dice and McDougal on dice and cards might help a little (not likely). By the way, when you say "only two sources" I must take exception. The words "only" and "Forte" don't belong together. Spend your $160 or $180 or whatever it costs and Get his games protection text! If you are at all serious about this stuff and you don't have his book... you are blowing it very badly. |

Oops... I should have mentioned that the Fechter book is about controlling and holding out dice while using a cup, not switching. Everything you need is there if you use a dice cup.

Hey Doc and Walking Liberty. I am new to this site, but I signed up specifically for this gambling section. At present I am a card man. That is my main area. I have a working knowledge of dice, but not I am not yet confident with my chops to venture out yet. After reading many of the posts I would like disscuss some ideas with you two gentlemen.
Up to present I have been on my own with no real mentor. Sure I have sessioned with many of what you guys have called so called "experts" (mainly magicians) names are not important at this point suffice it to say they got me to the point where I am now, but for me to progress along the lines in which I wish to proceed I need to make new contacts with gentlemen that work "under fire", Not famous magicians which consult casinos and written expose books. I hope what I have just said makes sense, I am not the greatest writer. Although maybe written poorly I think you know where I am coming from. I have searched and searched my local area for a mentor but with no luck.(I can't just put an ad in the paper! lol) I have no idea where you guys are, but I have reached a plataue. The books, DVDs, and sessions with some of these "experts" was a well spent 10-12 years, I need to move on? I hope either both of or at least one of you is willing to give some "real" advice. Like I said I am new this site and not sure what this "pm" is? That you spoke of earlier, but if your willing I am interested. Lastly, Walking Liberty I read that you mentioned videos you have done with dice, where can I see these? Thank you both for your time and patients. I look foward to your help. -Sonny Knight |

Asking for "real" working cheats to confess makes so much more sense on an internet forum than in the local paper. On another completely unrelated note: I wonder if snarky comments directed at a "narc" can be considered as interfering with an investigation, or obstruction of justice. |

It comes with the nature of cheating sleights becoming more mainstream, unfortunately.

Quiz me, and I will tell you want you want to know, that is if you consider me narc or troll. Some of you guys are something else boy, I guess because I am a newcomer to the site I must prove myself, but I must say, not a very friendly group. Why are you taking my post literal? I was trying to be humerous. I know more than you may think! Just because I want to discuss and also continue to learn doesn't mean I don't know anything. So ask me questions if you like, or send me a private message with your address and I 'll send you my book I just got published. Call Magic Inc. in Chicago, They carry my book. It's Called Swindled, by Sonny Knight.
Later friends. |

I'll lay off from now on... and here is my official apology: I'm very sorry... but only because you mentioned my favourite "narc" in the "Gamblers Holdout, Electronic" thread.

Sonny Knight what state do you live in and will you go out and hustle with us or are you some kind of lecturer. At this moment I'm currently in Houston Texas trying to get lessons from my other dice teacher. As someone previously stated why should we just give this information away to you just for the asking. Don't you know I've waited 8 years to meet back up with this guy in order to learn and get lessons (He just recently got out of jail) and you want this info. just for the asking.
Write back Doc |

Kcg5: I don't want to speak for doc but "don't you know" is a turn of phrase. Its regional to the Midwest of the USA as well as Georgia (and other places I am sure). It is meant to add weight to the statement it precedes.
What he wants is extremely valuable information that someone like Doc is willing to wait 8 years for to learn from a master who is not off dong shows on a cruise ship but behind bars. Just trying to put it all in context... |

Sonny_Knight: I'm confused. You say that you're more knowledgeable than we may think and you've written a book called "Swindled", but in another thread you say you've never heard of Steve Forte's GPS series. You also stated that you doubt anyone who's really working would spend time on this site, then you ask for help from members of this site. You also mentioned that you lecture on gambling. Why would anyone want to give information to someone who's going to turn around and reveal that information to a room full of people?
Smellawine: If you're not willing to read a book or buy a VCR to learn some new techniques or find inspiration then you should just give up. |
