The technique is terrific. Very polished. I enjoyed your confidence but am having trouble with the patter. It started off cute, but quickly became repetitive and annoying. If you could vary it that would be cool.

Here's a suggestion to round the routine out:

What if you started with the purse and started with your initial something from nothing patter. THen you produced a tiny boombox( or your cell phone if it plays MP3's) and push play and RUSH's "something from nothing" plays as you perform the routine without patter??? Then you could drop the boombox/cell back into the purse and voila!!!!!

How to produce the cellie or boombox? Remember Shoots Neo Coin Purse routine? Speed and Tenkai are your friends....

The patter was improptu...lol I had the moves I wanted to do but not the patter. Like you said I did like the begining but just did'nt know what to say in the middle or end. I'll work on it. The boombox is a neat idea.

Thanks again

Positive comment: you seem comfortable and relaxed with the sleights and handling, making a nice clean effect.

Negative comment: unnecessary overuse of the Ramsay subtlety creates a sort of open "logical disconnect" between your patter and your actions when you say "...and now there's two..." as you illogically gesture with only one finger.

The Ramsay subtlety is a great tool when used sparingly; overused, it causes a lay viewer to wonder why you hold your hand in such a cramped fashion when you emphasize a point by holding your finger up - and so often, too. In this case it makes no sense whatsoever that you would display only one finger when an empty hand can just as easily hold up two fingers.

Any obvious conflict between what you say and what you display can create an "error alert" in the viewer's mind, causing them to doubt whatever information they can't see with their own eyes. Since they can confirm your spoken statement that there are two coins, some part of their brain is inclined to doubt the unspoken statement that your hand is empty.

A very nice convincer (re: an "empty" hand) when holding a coin in fingerpalm can be found in the Hooser book "DesTroyers", and a minor modification of that gesture (for example) would have been a much better choice at this point in the routine.

You hit the nail on the head..why run when your not being chased. I noticed that after viewing it. I showed my right hand empty way too many times and for some reason I did a two finger gesture....rrrrr I usaly don't do this very often(run when not being cased) but I think between what I was gonna say next and also the moves I'm going to do it was too much for my lil' brian....lol something had to suffer...lol The patter was improptu did'nt know what I was gonna say until I said it. I will of course keep this in mind when making the final routine.
Thanks a lot for the advise if helps and backed up what I was thinking.
