I remember seeing Murray Hatfield give a lecture at a convention in New Jersey, called Magic Funday. Maybe google Murray and see if he has any products or items for sale that might be of interest!

I'm guessing you mean Murray Sawchuk - "the guy with the hair". I've never been to a convention in New Jersey. Smile

Alex-

You might want to check out John T. Sheets Manual on CD Manipulation. I bought it, and it's pretty resourceful.

With my experience, and as I heard from other performers, CD's are not very visible onstage because of their shining surface. They reflect light and therefore the surface of the CD which is normally quite large is not entirely visible. The solution is using the CD with their label side to the audience. If it's white or other clear color, against the dark costume it will be much more visible.
Experiment and think about this when preparing your CD routine.

Soleil

Soleil-

If you hold the CDs stationary, I can understand what you mean about the surface not being seen. But, think about doing the CDs as jumbo coins. If you hold a CD at the tips of your fingers and jiggle it, it will move and catch the light.

Also, on newer CDs, you get this cool color spectrum effect in white wash lighting, and at the right angle, it looks phenomenal.

The way Manipulation CDs are made to help solve this problem. On one side of the CDs it is all black. So your best bet it to wear a black outfit.

Good tip treating cd's as jumbo coins. Make that reflective surface work for you to catch the light and sparkle.

also, the thinness and flex to the manip cd's is a great help.

In my opinion, when routining cd manipulation do not just do a miser's dream routine with them. really work the cd's--productions, vanishes, color changes, size transformations. Doesn't have to be a massively long routine, just variety laden...and well done, of course.

I did purchase Eddy's "Snap" last year. I am truly pleased with it. It also includes a second method for performance. http://www.emagicsupply.com/snap-broken-......-16.html It is well worth the price.

If you want Laser Anywhere DVDs just go here and place an order.

http://www.magic-anywhere.com/laser.htm They trade for pound notes, great service and you get your stuff in a timly manner.

If you want to see if anyone will trade you, then try posting your request in the "Let's Make a Deal" section of the Café.
