It's time to clear out my bookshelves.
I've got tons of math/puzzle books. Any day now, I'm going to get started listing things on eBay. You can save me work (and I can save you money) by sending me your wish list. Send your list to: cal_q_layton@yahoo.com or contact me via PM and I'll let you know what I can do for you. Stan Alger |

You betcha!
Any specific title you're looking for? |

My copy of Hatcher's Algebraic Topology arrived in the mail from Amazon today. I think I'll ultimately want to study knot theory, so anything that will take me from Hatcher to knot theory would be nice. What do you recommend?

I don't think I could have helped with Hatcher.
I don't recall seeing that title in my collection. On the shelf next to my computer, I found Massey (A Basic Course..) and A. Seidenberg (Studies In...) I'm sure I've got more, but my books are spread out over several locations. Knot Theory? Well, Colin Adams' An Elementary Intro to... is also a few steps away from where I'm sitting. Again, I'm sure I have more titles (more technical) at the office, but couldn't tell you the names. |

...and on the shelf above and behind the monitor in my office:
Algebraic Topology by Spanier. |

I'm sure I have some extra copies of Filipak.
And extras of Fredrickson's first two Dissections books. And extras of Winning Ways. (But I'll be hanging on to Cutler and Hordern.) |

(Actually, I've heard that it's a good reference book, but not so good if you're just learning the subject.) I'll make some inquiries about the other titles and get back to you, probably in a PM. Thanks! |

Yes, PM is a good idea.
I'm going to stop responding to messages in this thread. I never intended for this thread to contain more than my original post. |
