That may be a good idea for a show. A guy with no expression can walk up to some kid and say "wanna see something you've never seen on the street?" and then the guy can toss out some rings and show his ability to fly cast. I bet if you tell the people watching that if they react strongly enough they may get on TV they would scream like a Blaine fan. Then there will be youngsters walking around their school halls with fly rods!

Too many hippies Gaddy.... I was lucky enough to be in the San Francisco area when the hippies had their hay day. My fondest memories are running into a group of hippie chicks who thought they could get high by sticking burnt matches into seven up and sucking on the tips of the matches, no kidding! The other was two girls got murdered at the end of my street (Furlong and Snoozy if you want to look them up) right about a week before the Manson murders and since Manson had a San Jose connection we had cops chasing vampire hippies etc out of the hills into our neighborhood. Good times.

You betcha...when the Sharon Tate murders happened we were scared to death. The Summer of Love was only three months, then the scammers, pimps, and thieves moved in. Hate to bust the bubble!

Interesting on subject matters here at hand . Two years ago at one local tractor show they had a magician perform on the stage they set up for entertainment. So street magicians wouldn`t be out of place ,as well as the balloon artists that are there most of the time.
many of these shows have a vast variety of things happening. they seem to have something for everyone there ,so anny one can enjoy their visit. The largest show in USA is in Portland Indiana in the 2nd last week of august, and has all types of antiques ( even some magic gaffs!!),crafts, all sorts of tools ,parts for machinery, house wares, funiture, toys, musical insturments. plus ientertainment ,country music, line dancing, fidlers contest, parades, and much much more.
theres a lot to learn out there, many interesting subjects, and hobbies to enjoy

Never perform magic in another mans arena w/out being asked to do so, very rude.

Blaine did not invent the term by any means. I was performing street magic, on the streets of St. Louis in the early 80's. It just meant a different type of set to address a different type of crowd and environment. Good money though!
Ok, I'll meet you at the place near the thing where we went that time.

Many can debate on a subject.Theres many names for a action or thing , some older gereration terms were used for the same item. For example in a Engine the cover on the valve springs/rockers was called a "dust cover" in the fairbanks & Morse parts book. Most Mechanics call it a "valve cover" ,and antoher name is "Rocker cover". Theres aexample of 3 names for one item.
A big item when you travel carbonated drinks , places they call it "pop","soda",or "soda pop". ideas & terms can be regional also. I notice the English has neat terms for everyday things. my favorite is a "Tin of soup" saying "Can of soup" we say here in USA. I do enjoy the way they talk .its very well pronounced.

Not really Danny just some innocent brousing magic to fellow freinds there,I didn't attend the show here in my town where the magician performed. I was at my favorite show in southeren Illinois with some great antique oil field machinery on display, and a oil lease owner using a 102 year old system. I temporially conected my mechanical coins across machine to the back& forth motion of a shackle rod wich activated the one coin jump effect. The lease owner & tour people all thought it was cool. I also did a sneeky quick change to the face on the coin machine from my face to my magic buddys face, the US president, my engine buddy there, couple of actors, and the Oblong engine assn. president. It added a nice amusing twist to the tour.

I gotta say you are the oldest 'street magician' I've ever encountered. Have fun.

Theres nothing wrong with being older while doing a hobby or sport.
I remember in middle school they had this 70 year old guy come into our gym class, and he ran circles around us in a basketball game special event we all attended. I`ll never forget that how healthy, and active he was. We have the local magician Dick Stoner is as old here in fort wayne that is really well with his hands yet. when your healthy, and active age has no effect.

I agree with you, you just happen to be the oldest street magician of the Blaine style alive, you should be happy...some of us are older than you more likely than not we just don't walk around with bunches of magic on us and perform for folks like that. Good for you!

Finally someone told it clearly, and in detail like it is. It was the bare naked truth.
And it ain't pretty.
