[Card begins to burn.]
'Our spirits join, into the phoenix above,
Peace reigns supreme, poetry, and love.'
[Card is burning brightly.]
'Yet nothing stands, time moves on with the flame

'The phoenix burns in the night,'
[The fire slows.]
'Life wars in the darkness,
Peace fails in the fight,'
[The flame dies out, a silence.]

'And now,
All we see is the ashes.'
[Only ashes remain on the fabric from which the card was drawn.]
'The last light is gone, the heat-death returns…'

'Life is a Phoenix;'
[The fabric is shaken.]
'Let it rise from the ashes.'
[The phoenix reappears. A pause and the fabric is folded and returned to the place where it came from.]
