Kamm,
The glossy card will not matter...but you will have to "soak" the cards a bit longer for them to absorb.

I have used GLOSSY CARDS with the Hot Money Clip. You have to let them soak for a several more minutes, but they work just the same! No warping...

Maybe your cards were made different from mine.

Hey Lyle,
I'm coming to the lecture at Crystals on Sunday. I wanna see the flaming business card. I haven't liked many of the fire effects I have seen in the past. I have an aversion to carrying flash paper with me everywhere, and forget lighter fluid. |

Danny, could you be a little more negative...
An effect , even the best effect ever made is only as good as the person doing it, I don't think that Lyle would have got 1 call if he had a bad personality, let alone several, Dave |

Danny Doyle brought up about the "law suit" factor when performing with flames, like hot leads or the old fire wallet. Well read your performers liability insurance policy. it is stated in "Exclusions" "ALL fire effects, except flash PAPER." Several years ago after that place in Rhode Island burned, all the restaurants I performed in told me NO FLASH PAPER any more. And I even give every restaurant a copy of my insurance certificate.

How long do you have to soak the cards for? Do you put them in the wallet wet?

I'm curious...does your insurance policy have the 10 of Hearts or the Jack of Spades?

If you're self-insured (as I am), then your policy SHOULD have a JOKER!!!

Back to the original post, I may be sold on this thing.
I've never liked fire wallets or anything but I think this could work really well with my character as a one-off moment. I would absentmindedly hand out the card without realizing it's on fire, act surprised, blow it out, and continue handing it out as if this sort of thing is no big deal and happens all the time. The more I think about this the more I like this. 2 questions though: This will definitely work with glossy cards? and can I buy it from Denny and Lee's in Baltimore or Barry's Magic Shop in Rockville?

I have no idea if those 2 places sell it, but I'm sure they could get it if you asked. YES...it works with glossy cards.

I'm sold on this as well! It sounds fantastic. two questions though, how long are the cards good for "prepared"? Do they "dry out" or whatever after a few hours and need to be prepared again? And does it come with enough secret stuff to last a while? If this is getting too close to revealing the secret, let me know and I'll find out when I get it.
This is something I would want to carry at all times and I'm wondering what the effective life is. What a great way for people to remember you!
