This would be even funnier if you lived in Australia, trust me.
Inner West Card Mechanics is a great example of something you wouldn't find funny if you didn't live here. I can't remember how many times I've been taken at the card table by Paul Harris' Butterfly Cut. I've been learning punch work from Eddie McGuire's Phantom of the Card Table but I think I'll just give it away and focus on the Butterfly Cut. I'm sure if Cardini was around he'd agree this guys work if five hundred years ahead of Erdnase. Michael |

That was awesome. Where did the tape go?
One time, when I was young, I botched a sleight so bad, Vernon, Marlo & Miller rolled over in their graves. But I didn't see Elmsley, probably because he was behind the others.

I liked it very much.
I was going to write what I especially liked (card palming? up the ladder cuts?) but then I realized: I liked it all! Jeff |

Funny. The thing I only really liked was the two handed snap change. The pass was also good, especially if you wanted to see the the cards from the bottom go to the top.

Why do people do this?
I mean fine, you learning card moves or card magic or whatever the hell that was. But could you at least practice for five ******* minutes before you run out step all over your dick making a self aggrandizing video of yourself? ***** ******* ******...come on!

ASW wishes his card fan looked so executed in the natural manner that the most critical observer would not even suspect, let alone detect, the action. This Cat here is the downest piker that ever got down under in Oz.

It's nice to see that we can all finally agree on something.
I'm sorry. I just had to throw that in there. CC |

Seriously, I took the video as a joke, and I still think it was meant to be one. With the exception of the issue of exposure (and those who are meant to laugh at the video surely know the stuff he's "exposing"), I think it is a pretty funny video.
Maybe I'm wrong. But consider: 1. The narrative which speaks of "six days a week" in the factory... 2. The narrative about having to learn something to "get out" to get another life... 3. The incredibly exaggerated movement on his doubles... 4. The incredibly stiff-fisted palming technique... ...and so on. Again, I could be wrong. But if the video is meant as comedy (which I think it is), then the joke is on all of you who think it's meant to be serious. (As I said, exposure issues aside.) Jeff |

Why would he contact me? I only have contact with two or three guys in magic in Oz. I'm hardly part of the magic scene, here or anywhere else. Apart from my occasional cynical posts here.
