I have been looking at this for a while to use in small venues (such as birthday parties or private house parties in a living room). Does anyone have any experience with this or can comment on the sound clarity, etc? I'm tired of having a small amplifier and use a side table anyway, so thought this might make some sense. If anyone has personally owned or heard one, I'd like some feedback please. I like the fact that it is self contained within a table.

Yeah yeah yeah. Feedback is a must for sound systems- especially when the high school provides you with a freshman to run it for you...lol...

For $500+, I'd build my own system into one of my existing tables. My concern would be what if I blow or short out one of the speakers? What if one of the speakers has a defect? Do I send the table back for repairs? Can I easily replace them? I would prefer to modify my own table or prop with speakers that I know will do the job and are easily replaced in the event of failure.

SoCal,
Yes, I use my icue2 in every show. I wouldn't leave home without it. Skip, good point aboutthe speakers. I may do just that. I was just curious as to how nice it sounded, and how durable it was. I"ll contact Doug and work something out. I'd just like to hear the quality and craftmanship. SOmething that packs down small is a plus. I'm not sue I want the hassle of placing an amplifier on the ground, etc either. I'm very anal when it comes to the "professionality" of my props. Building something sounds fun. I wish I had the time to do so. Robert Haas
