Fellow Café members...
Introducing Bitten by myself and JacQues Olet This is a new genre of effect that is completely different than anything out there with a new principle and a new type of astonishment.. Like any good effect, the description is simple; you move a mosquito bite from your arm and transfer it to a SPECATORS ARM. It looks like you pick up the bump and place it on their arm. They can feel the itch and the bump forming. It is a memory that they will feel. And you are left perfectly clean, while they have a souvenoir that will be with them wherever they go for at least a few days. Also, no skill involved. Teaser will be out soon. Will hopefully be released to the magic community in both manuscript or PDF format by this April

Jeeze, sounds a bit weird... The spectators are left feeling uncomfortable for the entire day? Weird, but cool if you're willing to do that to someone!

If this was real magic, I'd take all those annoying mosquito bites and pass them on to others. I'd love to see what you came up with.

It's not for everyday use (although it is practical) but it works when you really want to hit someone hard. The spectators feel like you did magic on them! Think of how powerful effects are that happen in the spectators hands, now think of how much more powerful the reaction can be when the magic happens on the spectator and stays on them! Please note that there is no blood, risk of disease, or risk of any kind involved. The level of itchiness is under your control. Stay tuned....

LOL, I don't care about the risk, (well, obviously, risk should always be a concern, but it is irrelevant to the point) I would not want, nor would any of my spectators want to have any sort of irritation transfered to me/them.
It sounds like an interesting idea, but not a good idea, imo.

I have to agree with the above, I just don't want to put physical irritation on my spectators...well maybe some of them...

It IS an interesting idea...though we have to face the fact that mosquitoes are vectors of all sorts of diseases and like it or not, we're living in a society that is very hygiene-conscious. Eventhough the method of the trick may not call for the use of a real mosquito, the spectators wouldn't know that and the tendency for them to think otherwise would be there.
Deadly diseases are popping up here and there, the last thing you want to do is make a 'bug bite' appear on someone's arm. God forbid the spectator falls sick (independently) and just happens to do so 1 or 2 days after your 'bug bite' trick... It is a possibility and a potential start for trouble. Could it be possible, to say, make the bite appear on your own arm? Or make 4 bites appear on different parts of your arm and move them to one spot altogether ala matrix? Making them all disappear afterwards would be an added bonus and it'll make you look really cool - face it, how many times did we wish we could just make mosquito bites disappear! By doing so, we'll be showing spectators that we can make a common innate wish come true - the same is accomplished during a bill switch; many people wish they could just change money at their finger tips by magic. Seeing someone ACTUALLY doing it drives them nuts and you automatically become special and magical in their eyes. I think that would be better because people can experience the magic at YOUR expense. It's sad, but sometimes we have to play safe That's just my opinion though. It does sound like a very magical idea, I have no clue as to how you'd go about doing it and am very interested in your development of it. Take care, Logan

I think this trick is meant for close personal friends(you know the type you could pull a practical joke on). I would use this on all my friends that have seen hundreds of tricks already. I don't think this is meant for table hopping but it surely has its place.
I am 27 years old and have been performing magic for 12 years. My main interest is in card magic, but I love all aspects of it. I love to discuss magic with anyone. Feel free to email me anytime.

Guys, this isn't meant to do for an old couple at a country club you are doing a gig at. It really can only be done for a few type of people. This is meant for when you really want to capture the moment of astonishment. You can use the principle taught to vary the routine. If you really want, you can just make the bites disappear and reappear on your body but a matrix style presentation could be kind of difficult. The biggest reason why I think this effect is strong is the magic happens on the spectator and they FEEL the memory and it becomes part of them. How could magic get stronger that? Once again, this isn't meant for everybody but it would work very well on a person that trusts you touching them and wouldn't mind having an itch for a day. I'll be finishing the manuscript and shooting the demo soon...

I have to say I see both sides of this effect.... One one side, I agree with all the comments about how it is NOT a good effect for a commercial entertainer... BUT
I also have to say, as a bizarrist, as someone who likes off beat, in the right context (Though I am not sure what that would be) this sounds really quite powerful. In many superstitious countries you could probably start a church. I am actually curious to hear more about the HOW... though again, I am not sure when it would be do-able in a commercial setting 90% of the time. College audience at a frat party though, hmmm, MAYBE. It does at least show thinking out of the box... Keep creating!

Could I perform this effect with a zit, or herpes?
Eczema/scars work? Kidding aside, I assume this is a joke? If it is, its a funny satire on the current market scene. If it isn't, well, then it's even funnier!
If you're reading this you're my favourite magician.
