I'm looking for origin of the following method used in the T&R Newspaper effect.
A magnet and a metal plate is used to hold the torn pieces. I found out that the German magician Chess Litten described her method in using a magnet and a metal plate in the German MAGIE magazine in February 1991. Is there any source earlier than 1991? |

Contact Robert Baxt. He should have the answer. I am sure that he has researched the method. You can contact him here. http://www.robertbaxt.com/contact.html

Thanks, Scott Compton,
I already wrote to Robert, but got no answer up this date. I will try it again. |

When was the version sold by Mark Mason released? Was that later than 1991? I think that might have been a Tony Stevens idea, certainly proved popular when released.

You are correct Paul, Mark Mason's No Tear Newspaper is indeed a Tony Stevens effect. I am not sure of the date it was first released however
