I recently bought a Jumbo deck, and I thought it would be really good for my upcoming 1/2hour show at uni. And with my limited magical knowledge, the best trick that comes to mind is 'Further than That' by Stewart James. Enjoy!
PS - Ex-MVD member Jenning's version of this trick "The Trick that does Everything" is still IMO the best version out there. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=MSqmr4VE72c |

Hi MDew,
I like that trick... it's a killer for lay audiences. I thought you did it well - the patter was a little slow, but that also built the tension. I was thinking that there is opportunity for audience participation. You could ask if THEY wan't you to go "further than that", which leaves room for some humor as well. Just my thoughts as I watched it. Nice job! Duane |

Not bad at all, only thing I really didn't see was a good reason for using the jumbo deck, though the idea of something going "further than that" based on using it might work. I'm probably thinking too much like a magician and not enough like audience.

Very nice. Using jumbo cards for stage stuff is great, especially in a great trick.

IMHO counting cards, spelling with cards and 5 minutes of slow patter do not a good trick make. It took 2 1/2 minutes before anything "magical" happened and I think you will lose a lot of interest by that time. I was tempted to turn it off after about the first 2 minutes. Sorry, I am not trying to be rude, just giving my honest opinion.
If you do this at your show invest in another deck, the one your using looks really bent out of shape. |

I, on the other hand, enjoyed the trick and your presentation.
Ok, the deck was bent but get a new deck to fix that. The patter was a bit slow but it did justice to the punchline/s. I would probably speed it up a bit but don't ruin it by going too fast now. Somewhere in the middle would have been great. Good job, Dani |

Good job!
I liked it. Those card's are the same size as the El Duco cards?

Thank you for all your honest opinions, gentlemen!
Neznarf, They are about the same size as El Duco cards, just a tiny tiny bit larger, you probably can't notice the difference. |
