I think coins across gets a great response. If I do it through a table it seems just as strong. The test condition silver copper seems to also be real strong. I also like find the hole. I notice the extra magical looking additions to the coins across really strengthen it.
I find a very strong reaction to a bent coin. It doesn't matter which method is used, so I don't see a need to buy one for $500. Misers dream when performed with conviction gets a great response. See Jeff McBride or Andrew Goldenhirsh. Shadow coins are very strong and even stronger when coupled with an explosion. Of course there is Armondo Lucero's matrix, amazing! kirkG |

For doing a single trick for laymen, Scotch and Soda can't be beat. Magnetic copper and silver has been in my closeup routine for over thirty years. It is the best visual coin trick there is.

It's the routine and presentation that makes a trick memorable. Just the s/s gaff is not enough. Though letting them look at the thing might offer fascination.

Brian,
As nice as No Extra's is. I personally like Chink-a-chink better. I know you need the extra, but its such a nice piece of magic |

Hey Wildstone (Mike). I believe you use the Johnson Ultimate C/S as well as the Magnetic C/S. How would you compare the two? If you had to choose only one, which would it be? Thanks for any input.

I have to chime in with people who suggested Coin in Bottle. From my own experience, it's one of those tricks that everyone truly enjoys.

I love Roth's Hanging coins, although I don't perform it. Me personally, I get my best reactions from my shadow coin routine, and Dill's Backfire. 3 fly, is pretty nice too, and some of the coins across. But this question is too personal, everyone has their prefrences on magic, and what appeals to them.

My favorite is Johnny Thompson's handling of the coin in bottle and Fire Trap as performed by Doug Henning on the Tonight Show.

Hey!
my best trick is the 1/2 dollars accross! why? well, because I'm a beginner in magic and it's very difficult to pass this trick!!! and I'm surprised myself to see these coins go to one hand to the other hand!
