This has always been my favorite routine to watch but I have never done it because of how you have to switch in the loaded cup as the set up isn't very practical... I would rarly find my self in such a situation formal enough to come out with it all hooked up in my jacket(if I'm wearing a jacket) ....
my question: are there any other methods of switching in a cup with the load? |

Have you considered rigging a Roman Candle to go off over your shoulder on cue?

Post this in the secret sessions if you expect an answer that will tell you how to do it.

I will when I get home, but resources (books etc) are helpful to.
Chad that might work but I'm not sure if that's practical either ![]() |

Hey Guys,
David calls his routine "My Best Friend" and from what I can gather it is originally from "Close-Up and Personal." Now though, you can find his chop cup routine on his "Premise Power & Participation Vol. 1" dvd. It is also included in the WGM: Chop Cup dvd. Either way it is definitely worth checking out. ~Ron |

I just recieved the Worlds Greatest and was most impressed with David Regal routine. I thought it was really outside the box.

If seated I'd use my l*p, but I'm seldom seated. If I have a table and I'm standing I make use of my close-up case, set with my act behind the table. I most often do the trick at The Magic Castle bar now, so I use the back of the bar. No one on G*d's green earth sees the switch, as it occurs during a climax that takes place elsewhere! The method I tip on the DVDs is a sneaky approach for walk-around, where no table is present.
I do not believe I have tipped anything inappropriate - am I correct? |

David,
Is this walk-around method tipped on the WGM video, PP&P, or both?

For the greatest chop cup routine of all time, look to Paul Daniels.

Look at the way Paul Gertner does his switches in Steel and Silver. This is also on his DVD's.

Its not really a chop cup, but I love the cup routines with a hook like davids, I found greg wilsons kiss off recently, I really like the idea, I never had looked at the original from paul Harris so I was very supprised (and delighted) on the workings. its too bad they can;t make them any more. I think I did find a source for a few spare cans
