One time I performed Hundy 500 for a group, and a guy said, "My wife knows that trick - only in reverse. She changes $500 to $5."
So, I guess you could say, "Sure, but unfortunately it only works in reverse when I use other people's money." Robert |

Wilson has another line, something like: "Sure I can change your $5 into $500, but the fee is $495."
As for handing the bills out or not: I use black and white photocopies of the genuine reddish bills. First, I ask them if they want some free money, and they obviously reply in the negative. After the change, should they ask, I simply say: "Hey, you wanted me to keep them, remember?" Should you want to hand the bills out, I believe one or two is fine, but four (out of five) is just too risky for me. |

I have a feeling the Easy Money effect is going to become the new Coin in Bottle/Card through Window for the market. We seem to have a new version hitting the streets every couple of weeks.
Yes, that is my real name. Yes, I am a real person. No, you probably won't agree with me.

I think handing out two or even three bills (IF they ask) would satisfy their curiosity. However, here are few things you could say if someone asks to see the bills but you don't want to hand them out (these are just off the top of my head... be kind
All to be said with an obvious tone of humor in your voice: 1. I used to change 10 bills at one time, but the last five times I've let people examine them... well, now I'm down to 5 bills, so if you don't mind (place the packet in your pocket). 2. (while placing the packet in your pocket) Did you want to see if the bills were real or are you just amazed that someone like me HAS $500? 3. The last time I showed this to my wife/girlfriend, she asked to examine the bills as well. She was at the mall for three days (place the packet in your pocket). Regards, Steve

Robert...in response to Greg Wilson's reply..."yes but it takes twenty four hours"...I would use "yes, but it takes twenty four hours the second time"

I would use it when there is a purpose for four 20's, four 5's, etc. For instance, I play in a neighborhood $20 poker game. I can pull out five 1's, make the magic happen, and pony up four 5's with a very logical reason to pocket the last bill. Same scenario when pitching in at a dinner, etc.
Maybe you could also use it to produce four larger bills that could be used in some follow up effect where a fifth bill isn't necessary. |

Mine should be here any day now. I can't wait!
It's not the size of the wand that matters, it's the "magic" in it...

Since this was my test audience, and my partner-in-crime when I need a "stooge", I did fill him in. The "Now THAT was good" comment was naturally directed at the visualness of the trick. He did ask me if he could examine them, but I think it was more due to the fact that I share much of my material with him, not that he was a skeptical audience. As with other versions, you can hand out all but 1 of the bills. Richard also teaches multiple ways of counting the bills to truly show them in the most fair way possible. It truly looks like there are only 5 single bills, which are shown front and back. It really lets the audience see everything without the need to hand the bills out. Really, with extreme burn, you're no worse of than you would be with Hundy or Heiny, so if you're using those with success, then whatever techniques or lines you use should be very suitable. I personally have been using 1s to 20s, and when I start using this for real audiences my reply will possibly something along the lines of, "Yeah right, like I'm going to just hand you $100 in cash!" Said jokingly, of course. As a side note, I showed this off at my local shop today after work. My handling is pretty smooth, and I wasn't worried about showing the effect to people who are "in the know" because htey already know Hundy, Heiny, Slow Burn, etc. They all thought the effect looked fantastic. One lady (just an average customer) was anxious to buy the effect right there and then, but the DVDs sadly hadn't arrived at the shop yet. She claimed that her only experience in magic thus far was a little sponge ball routine, and no, she did not ask to examine any of the bills. The effect just sells itself, and as said before, is really simple to do. I wouldn't worry too much about examinability. I think there are plenty of examples provided above this post to deal with those issues. Or, as Richard recommends on the DVD - Buy stuff with it! Change 1s to 20s, then spend 2 of the 20s. Then it's totally natural to pocket the rest of them, and they can check out the 2 you gave them to their heart's content. I think if the handling looked fishy and closed-off, there would be more of a "Let me see those!" reaction. But since you so cleanly and fairly show the fronts and backs of each bill before and after the change, I think that reaction will be minimized. I'll report back with further results as I work with it more. Kevin

Is this the same "gimmick" as Hundy 500 but with different handling?
Or is it a brand new (or new-ish) gimmick? |

Waiting for mine to arrive I think it's slowburn with a built in gimmick .

It is the exact same gimmick as Slow Burn, but something is added to it. If you already have a Slow Burn gimmick you use, you don't have to make a new one, just add the gimmick to it. I hope that makes some people feel better.

THEGUY26 is right. You can ad the gimmick to your Slow Burn-gimmick. Although I made a new gimmick with different banknotes (other than I use for Slow Burn). I like to perform Slow Burn in the future and for me, Slow Burn works better without the gimmick. But trust me, Extreme Burn kills. With no doubt, I will perform Extreme Burn too.

The trick, I think, is to find a good contrast that works for what you want to put across. Blank white paper to bills is an excellent contrast..magazine pieces to bills is a good contrast. You get the idea.
You could do an offbeat effect where the bills fly into your pocket. Have the gimmick set up to change bills into blank white paper. After they turn white, (They unprint themselves, go back in time, etc?) Ask the spectator where they went. When they say they have no idea, pull out some pre-loaded bills from your pocket claiming that they magically flew into your pocket. Then spend them. Yeah, it's a little far fetched, but it may be cool when you get tired of just changing one denomination into another. You know, "variety is the spice of life", and all that rot.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.
