The extremely crisp ones are hard to come by. Only when the banks get in new mney are they easy to obtain.
But when you go to a bank and ask for crisp new bills, the teller usually asks "Why?" Well, duh! I somehow don't have the nerve to tell her "Because Well, I'm an egotistical magician, and it turns me on to freak people out, and I want to turn one dollar bills to twenties, but I really can't do that because all magic is kind of fake, and actual counterfeiting will land me a date with Bubba, which idea I don't really relish, but there is a great guy named Richard Sanders who invented a gimmick and a DVD that will accomplish that illusion without getting me chafed wrists and other sensitive areas of my body, and I payed about thirty bucks for the thing through a fifty some odd year old elf in Boston named Hank Lee, and it's the hottest effect on the magic market right now, so I need the bills so that I can go home and construct my own gimmick according to Richard's instructions so I can go in restaurants and stores and such and give the illusion of turning one dollar bills into twenties so that people's mouths will drop and I will become somewhat of a legend in my own time. "Any more questions lady???" "Arrrrrrrgggghhhh! "Now just hand me the %^$#$ bills or I'm gonna rob the place!"

Great Magic ...I love it. After doing this for the past few weeks with $1's turning into $20's I have come up with this using the new $5's. I begin by saying
" Have you seen the new $5's [ showing 5 of them ] well you know what is really strange about them is they magically change into $50's ." I then complete the effect and show 5 colorful [ new ] 50 dollar bills. I have done it this way several times .. not everyone is familiar with the new $5 so you get their interest quickly.

I agree with Magicman. I think it worth trying both of them. It depends mainly on your routining. I would recommand EB for a quick flash introduction of the money (one change is sufficiently strong for EB, you will lose the impact performing a second one I think), but for a longer routine with a story line patter, I would recommend Heiny500. Concerning European currencies, as they are much more colorfull that US ones, I would recommend EB for the visual impact. That's just my point of view. Que je partage d'ailleurs.

Daffydoug, I just tell the bank teller I need crisp bills, new ones if you have them.
If they ask why, tell her you are including them in gift envelopes and you like new bills since they are gifts. It's just easier... My bank didn't ask questions, they just went and got a new stack of $100's. |

When I get crisp bills, my bank doesn't ask why either. Even when I ask for 30 half dollars, they don't ask why.

Teller: Is there a REASON you want uncirculated bills?
Me: Yes, there is...(long pause, as it's apparent I won't say what the reason is) Bank President (in secret room, on phone): Yes, information? I'd like the number for the FBI, please. (cups hand over phone) Oh, and Ted, make sure that security camera is working. |

P.S. Richard is one hell of a guy. A week or two ago he sent me a Youtube message and thanked me for promoting Extreme Burn on the web. He said he would send me some extra stuff, and he did! I just got the package today. He sent me six, yes SIX, extra Extreme Burn gimmicks. He sent me his Royal Stab and 10, which both are wonderful. Wait, there's more! He sent me his Fiber Optics Extended, which I haven't watched yet, but I'm sure it's great. THANKS RICHARD! Richard is one class act. He's also been putting out some fantastic stuff. I've been a big fan of his since way back when he put out a small booklet full of great effects but Extreme Burn and Interlace are just downright diabolical! |

Banks get requests all the time for crisp bills. Mostly as gifts, graduation money, etc. I am surprised they'd ever ask as it is none of their business. We must look guilty knowing we are about to paste them together!
I received EB the other day and agree that it is very strong. Not a completely new concept but a very nice improvement/add to the other bill changes out there. I like the $1's to $100's for the impact and the fact that the edges are the same color. I made a set of $1's to $20's and am worried that the green $20 edges may be a flash point, copared to the lighter $1 edges. Very nice job by Mr. Sanders. Mike |

Banks never ask what they're for. People give crisp bill for birthdays, etc.

I'm on very good conversing terms with Deanna, the teller who waits on me at my bank. She's not afraid to ask me questions! (After all, I've asked her a few!)
Graduated in '77. Makes her three years younger than me. But she's married. *sigh*

OK, I have this now. First off, if you can, collect all the methods out there. I'm still learning on my magic adventure, so I do that ( when I can as it can be expensive if you like as many magic plots as I do ).
EXTREME BURN by Richard Sanders is the most advanced and easy method I have seen. First off, Richard gives a slew of handlings and explains the situations they are best used in ( surrounded, they are in front of you, etc. ). The changes are incredible. It looks like real magic. This is what it would look like if we could actually do what we say we're doing. As I said earlier, unless they come up with a method where the paper is treated and by blowing on it the bills change, Extreme Burn is THEE handling to use. Combined with Larry Davidson's diabolical routine, you have a killer performance piece. GET THIS DVD is you want to fry, startle and amaze your audience.

I am trying to make another Extreme Burn gimmick using foreign currency to U.S. bills. What currency do you recommend and where can you get it. I looked all over and found nothing.

Bills from Argentina is what Richard used in the original Slow Burn DVD. He said you had to cut the foreign bills down a tiny bit, though.

I remember those bills, I was actually going to go dig out that DVD and watch it! I have also recently heard the money from the Bahamas was the EXACT same size of that in the U.S. Too bad I can't just go to the Bahamas, or Argentina.

Coin shops should have currency from other countries.
