I searched for this but didn't find an answer to this exact question.
I just started collecting shells this past year. 1964 for silver and 1972 for non silver Kennedy halves seem to be the most standard dates used on shells. Can anyone confirm my observation? I know it's not really necessary, but I like my coin and shell dates to match. Thanks, Dave

The only consistent date you will find in terms of gaffs for a Kennedy is the 1964. As far as clad Kennedys go, it's everywhere as I examine my Johnson gaffs and I have many of them collected over many years ago.
