After making a search the next time I try I always get this message;
"ERROR! Sorry, you cannot run a new search so soon after your last search was run. Please try again shortly. " Trying agian "shortly" doesn't ever work either. The wait is at least 20 minutes. There's got to be a way to speed this up. What do you think web experts? Possible? I hope so.

Dan, this is just one of the many topics that have been running concerning this situation. I think it might answer your question.

The time period is two minutes. If you're having to wait 20 minutes, something's not right. It's only two minutes for me.

Thanks Dave, at least that explains it.
Gene, I appreciate your hard work. I would like to inform you however that it takes considerably more than 2 minutes when I try. I don't think it's a problem with my end, as no other site do I have this situation with. I could time it if you like, but I'd bet cold hard cash it takes at least 10 minutes. (It may seem as 20 because after trying several time within the 10 minutes I give up.) Thanks for your work.

If you want to time it just to see, that's fine. Here's what I do to time it. I search for posts under my name using the main search form. Then I go to the form at the bottom of the page and keep clicking the submit button every ten seconds or so. After two minutes, I can usually search again. It never takes me 20 minutes.

I timed it... ya it's only 2 minutes.
My frustrations/give up time must be 1:50! Now that I know, it goes by quicker. For my next experiment, I'll be timing the watched pot! Thanks Gene

"Sorry, you cannot run a new search so soon after your last search was run. Please try again shortly". I thought the search was not going to be affecting user names with linked articles? Is this new?

Bannester, when you click on "view posts in the last 30 days" you are doing the same thing as using the search engine. You must wait out the blocking period before trying a new search.

Hi,
since nearly 2 weeks back it is not possible for me and many other Cafémembers from Sweden to reach the Café. All of us have TeliaSonera as their ISP. Do you have any information about this issue? The only way to reach the Café is via a proxyserver as I do now.

The thing to do is contact TeliaSonera and have them update their DNS server information. We can't do that for them.

Thanks Gene for your information.I have got some more information about this issue and updating the DNS server information would not work because there is a problem between TeliaSonera and their American partner Cogent. I hope they will soon find a solution for this.
