My dear Café friends around the world....
Here is a video of my best student Ron Muyot! He just won 3rd place in The Magicians Foundations' Annual Close Up Competition. Ron worked hard and performed my cups and balls routine wonderfuly! All the days and night practicing with Ron....getting tired and frustrated....getting high blood pressure etc.... was well worth it. Technically he did justice to my routine. He must work harder with his presentation skills. Connecting with real world audiences does not come overnight. My friends help me applaud this young man and lets all help him improve by giving tips and suggestions if needed. Not bad kid! 3rd place in your first competition. The real win is the experience points you earned from joining and "working hard"!! I am proud of you! NOW DON'T LET ME CATCH YOU SLACKIN! GET BACK TO WORK KID! Thank you fellas! Thank you gentlemen. The methods used are John Mendoza's from his Mendoza Method Manuscript. The manuscript was a gift given to me by my mentor over 15 years years ago. I loved it so much I spent over a year just doing that....in the course...developing it and making it my own. Tweaking and experimenting with moves and choreographies. Years later it became my signature act. After 15 years I felt confident enough to send Mr. Mendoza a video of my routine. A way of saying thanks and also to ask his permission to include it in my upcoming book and DVD. He was happy to let me do so.
Thank you Mr. Mendoza! The "Boss' World Famous Cups and Balls" (what a weird name for a CB routine eh...Thats what they called it for years!) is now being enjoyed and performed by another soul who is passionate about magic and the cups and balls. It has given me championships in magic and now.... my best student won 3rd place. Now I feel like a champ more than ever! Your friend from Manila,,, Rannie

It was sitting there in one of the dealers table for days. It was waiting for me. I regret that I only bought one. There was another one but it had some flaws. I was excited to play with the solid cup. I never saw one till then, although I have always dreamed of having a solid cup. Its funny that I thought of a solid cup kicker while playing with my Okito Box. I have a plug box you see. I designed a phase where in the solid cup was in play long after it was brought in. I decided to remove that bit and streamline it. I figured after the last ball made it back under the cup twice.... It would not be wise to do more.... That was already pushing it. I listened to my mind and not just the excitement that could have gotten the better of me. A magician must be able to discern when enough is enough and when it is too much. Rannie

Art,
Take notice that his cig isn't lit! HOWEVER, when Rannie and I were together this past Nov. we both smoked so much that even Los Ang. issued a bad air warning! LMAO Rannie, After seeing the solid cup it gave me a couple ideas for the "Boss Cup" that will make it on paper while I'm out of town this week and hopefully on the lathe this weekend! Andrew says he'll show me how to upload the photo's to send you soon! Cheers, Mick |

Very nice Ron! And congratulations... Just when they thought that the trick was over, you hit them with some more. I always liked that "solid" ending!
imagine the possibilities... endless...
