I just found this thread. Any updates on this?

The performance videos I've seen on this didn't look to smooth.
Before spending $56 I want to read some solid reviews.

I kept watching this over and over for the fiftieth time, and for the first time ever I gave in to compulsive ordering
That's one heck of a demo video you have there, Jim and Andy. I now certainly hope Gecko lives up to it! |

Well, those are some pretty incredible vanishes with sleeves rolled up.

That's right but look at the camera angle.... How come the beer bottle vanish looks cleaner then the cap vanish? I'd like to see the same vanish from the front in a medium size shot. Then we see...

Hey everyone,
Jim showed this to me at Blackpool Magic Convention earlier this year. It is a solid piece of kit, blending elements of lots of vanish gimmicks and adding its new touch to it. I think it is obvious it is not magic and everything has to go somewhere! I think if this is the type of magic you like and you already use vanishing gimmicks then you will love it. If you are new to magic I am sure you will still love it! The ability to vanish the amount of objects it can vanish is definately an ability I want! Ben |

Hi folks! – First post here on the 'Café'…
99% of the time, my usual mode of dress is t-shirts, shorts, and flip-flops. Therefore, since most of my magic is impromptu (for family & friends), I have very high hopes for ‘The Gecko’. And I agree that you can do VERY nice vanishes with some good sleight and misdirection…but you really can’t (IMHO) get close to the miraculous without something like the Raven (at least I’ve not seen anything yet). Up until I found this thread, I’d been eyeballing the ‘Black Widow’...but since I rarely wear anything with long sleeves, I was afraid I’d never use it. Can any of you fine folks tell me the difference between a "hold-out" and a pull?? John (Magic Grandpå) |

A pull generally won't let you replace an item into your hand. A hold-out will let you retrieve and sometimes remove items.

I could have sworn I saw The Gecko at a magic shop last year. Is this just being released now?

Has anyone ordered this? I noticed MJMmagic.com has it now.

I went ahead and ordered from 'Hocus Pocus'...they only charged $6.50 for Priority Mail. I'm in Southern Oregon so it shouldn't take long from Calif.
I did do a search on MJM's site and it didn't come up...bummer because I get a discount with them. I'll let you know when it arrives. |

I think it's on their new release page. Now where did that Sam Adams bottle go?
Was there a sound of broken glass after the vanish? The cell phone vanish looked great too. I'm keeping my eye on this one. http://www.mjmmagic.com/store/-p-6232.html |

If everyone just sits and waits for reviews, there won't be many. I just bought one and I'll let you know how it is when I get it.

I don't think the "live & learn" thing is applicable here...like I said...I typed in "gecko" into MJM's search window and it came up "no results found".
I can rest in the fact that I did try and his search engine is flawed... >:( |

Wow, the new demo video looked a lot cleaner, I'll still be eagerly awaiting reviews though. If I hear a few good comments about the Gecko I'll take the plunge.
