Steve,
When searching the members list has anyone else come up with maybe allowing a starting position. In other words, if someone was trying to look-up my info but wasn't quite sure of the whole name but knew it started with JCAR, they could type in jcar and have the members list start there instead of having to page through. I face the same problem too when looking for a specific member. A search is useless if you don't know the username. While going through the member list, we have to click page by page in order to get to the page. Is there any way to do it?

Let me look into this before giving you a definite "yes" or "no". I may be able to set something up to make it easier to find a given member, even if you don't know their exact username. I'm thinking an alphabetical listing might work, where you click on a letter to view the usernames that begin with that letter. That would at least narrow your search down considerably. I'll have to think it through and see what it would take to set it up.

I put a drop box in place of the text box for the "Author" on the search page. The drop box has the names of all the members in alphabetical order. It's a very long list!
Feel free to ask about other ideas you might have to make things easier. If it's possible and practical, we can probably make the changes needed. |
