Jerry Andrus never lied when he did magic -- or at any other time, for that matter.

If he had switched out your card, and was placing the card he had switched it for into the middle of the deck, he would say, "I place the card into the middle of the deck," instead of "I place your card into the middle of the deck."

For my own story magic, I usually start with something that is true, and at a certain point, I go off in another direction. It makes it easier to sell.

I think if I did the Wellington Switchboard, I would probably relate it to a recurring dream. I have just moved into a new house, and the light switches never seem to work the way they should.
