I'm not the only one thinking that ventriloquism would be funny in a mentalism act! I tailored a lot of jokes for my pedro parrot. Just PM and I will shares some ideas with you!

Steve Taylor has a very good video recently put out called, "Fooling Your Dummy".

It shows several magical effect that the ventriloquist can perform with his vent figure. Included among these effects it the classic (and very funny) Mind Reading routine where the vent figure has a paper bag over his head --yet can guess the multitude of objects that a spectator holds up. Of course, we find out that the bag has a hole cut out of it for the vent figure to see through.

His main show, shown on this DVD, takes place at the Magic Castle.

Not all effects are amazing --in fact they are pretty basic --but Steve is talented and has a great attitude which makes learning fun and easy, and the DVD, overall, very entertaining.

Edgar Bergen does a nice bit in an old movie called Stage Door Canteen. More of a fortune teller than mind reader, but still funny.

Horton and I do a comedy mind reading ala Steve Taylor from his DVD "Fooling your dummy".

...Horton Who?! lol

I htought Steve Taylor's MentVent routine was a hoot Neal.
(and Horton's) routine is also very strong and funny too.

Does anyone have any current info on where I might be able to find "Mental Magic for Vents", by Anderson? I haven't been able to find it. Thanks.

Nugget the Mind Reading Chicken is on my DVD. I've combined a modified version of Taylor's bit with another classic mind reading gag.
I'm looking at a couple of new ideas for using a vent character in a mind reading routine. I'll post when I'm satisfied with one.

Steve, I love your DVD. I'm brand new to vent, so your DVD is very helpful. I've been working on a mind reading routine based on the chicken and may try it tomorrow. See you at KAX.
