Hi

I am using a round, metal dye tube which I bought a few years ago.
It is round as the size of ping-pong ball (not Joe Porper DT).
I am looking for another one, but I can not find it at any of the dealers.
Can anyone help me I find one?
Thanks,
Eran

Eran, I'm not sure if a Palmo is what you are looking for, but I have the SKS Palmo and love it. Duane Laflin sells one, too. I don't have it, but I have heard that it is slightly larger than the SKS model.

Eran,

Have you tried a pill bottle? Cut the end off and cover it with flesh colored Band-Aids!

Then, you can pick your size.

Bob,
Awesome! Thank you for sharing this! I have several dye tubes, but I never thought of this and it will be nice to experiment with sizes!

Also take 35mm film cans. Some of them are even flesh color.

A Pill Bottle is the plastic bottle that prescriptions come in! They come in several sizes, have straight sides, and are easy to customize for magic purposes.

Prescription bottles, or in some cases non-prescription bottles will work. I found a small bottle that used to contain some kind of vitamin supplement that was the perfect for me. It was short and wide, and I made a homemade tube that was kind of like a palmo.

If you are actually willing to spend money, aquarium shops also sell rigid plastic tubing that can be cut to lengths too.

You can get pvc tubing to fit your fingers. Take two short pieces with a pvc connector. That way you can put a cloth barrier between the tubes. This will allow you to push the silk from one side and have the second come out the other without accidentally getting both falling out.
If you want to have a palmo-ball type, you can go to a lamp parts store or a place that had brass bed parts. Get the brass ball with a hole. If you are going to go with a palmo ball, you might as well use Bob's egg.
I have used rubber Handballs or "stick balls" (indiginous to NY). they are small rubberballs that you can put a hole in and a fishline as well.
