Hi, I have my jacket, but I want to perform it now with a comical twist. Any ideas and details? Thanks.

Funny you should ask.
This just hit me today, I was thinking about something else entirely, and then, for some reason, a bit for the comedy jacket hit me. (This is odd, I don't even own a jacket.) Perhaps this is someone else's line? Anyway, it's just a line for the middle of the initital struggle, where you're starting to convey the idea that this might not be a totally serious effect. You struggle into the right position, pause, look at the audience as if you were looking in the mirror, shift positions, and ask, "What do you think? Do I look fat in this?" It's yours if you like it, it's just mine if you don't.

A Magician I like named Jeff Collins does a great comedy routine with a straightjacket. He first of all gets a pretty lady from the audiance and does some hillious comedy by-play with the lady trying to flirt to attract a big strong man to fasten him in the jacket. When hes finally in he escapes to "im too sexy for my shirt" in a very funny way.

Mago Mai,
You can see my routine on the video Lemming Unleashed! I've been doing a comedy routine with a straitjacket for over 30 years now and, along with Kerry Ross (who did a patter driven comedy jacket), was the first to do so. Many wonderful performers have, of course, also done great routines including my great buddy Jeff Moche whose routine makes me laugh a lot. Simon |

John Novak did a pretty funny routine, and I believe that he wrote it up. Harry Anderson also did a pretty funny routine with his ex-wife Leslie.
