Anyone know how this term came to be related to gambling? I get interested in where our slang comes from. If you don't know what I'm talking about please ignore my post

You are correct. Since Solomon was the wisest man in the world this is what we call Jap-wise guys (because the Japanese are smart people as well).

Two gamblers came before wise King Solomon, dragging between them a big pot in a poker cloth.

"This pot is mine I won it with four aces and a deuce.” said the first one.

"No! I won it with four aces and a deuce.“ said the other.

And so they accused each other of cheating before the King until he called for silence.

"Bring me my biggest sword," said Solomon, "and I shall split the pot in two. Each of you shall receive a half."

"Sounds good to me," said the first gambler.

But the other gambler said, "Oh Sire, do not split the pot. Let the other man it."

The wise King did not hesitate a moment. "The pot must go to the first gambler" he proclaimed.

"But he was willing to split it in two!" exclaimed the King's court.

"Indeed," said wise King Solomon. "that sucker didn’t know the story but this slippery cuss did and I bet is name is Doc.”

Doc’s mom was making some pancakes as a treat for her two young sons, Simon and Doc. But the boys began to argue as to who should get the first pancake she made.
"Shame on you boys," she said. "If the wise King Solomon were here today, he would say, ‘let my brother have the first pancake’."
Doc looked at Simon and said, "OK, Simon, you be King Solomon today."


I better go and hide now before Doc gets back.

What do you think to this thing Doc? I will put it here cos I can’t be bothered to make a new thread about it.

Your in the casino, been playing poker and they have just dealt the last hand of the night and they are closing soon. The players rush off from the table to get in line to cash out. The dealer is walking away with the deck. You and your pal are still at the table talking. You shout the dealer “John just a moment!” He stops and turns. You get up and go to him and say. “Lend me the cards for a second, we just want cut to see who pays for the taxi.”

What have you got? The deck and a good moment to switch in a marked deck, that is what you got perhaps.

Bear in mind KEMs are used over again in some casino‘s.

That sounds great Tommy but Doc don't play in no casino's. Why? There's too much money in the street and if I get caught, no jail time.
