I just found a hand sanitizer that is about the same size as a sharpie.
Even has a pen clip like a sharpie. This is great for strolling magic. You can keep the pen in your suit jacket or wherever you keep your other pens. You can just discretely spray it on as you're wandering about. I found it at Big5 sporting goods.

Sweet!
I've been trying to find a less conspicuous hand sanitizer. It's a spray you say, okay.
Think inside the box. . . it's less crowded.

They have these at Walgreens I tried one and they smell awful. I was hoping I could find another brand that smelled decent. I have a huge hand pump bottle behind the bar. After sanitizing it usually makes my hands dry so I always use the sortkwik (fingertip moistener for counting money) to get my hands tacky again. There is also sanitizer in the 3rd sink behind the bar. A quick dip in there works as well.

I got a bunch of those sanitizer pens at at trade show. They have lots of alcohol in them. Drys out my hands way too much.

The odds of getting sick if you're not careful must be pretty high in a situation like that. No? I wonder how long germs last on sponge balls?

Hey, I'm going to get flamed over this. RELAX If any one of us had any idea (maybe you do) of how many people/microbes certain items were exposed to before any of us, I think the whole world would collapse unto itelf. Me too!! It's frightening!!! However, save a thought for the good old immune system and its ability to do things that you still don't know are possible. Ok, it's not perfect, but IMHO it's good enough to protect you from the evil world that just wants to do you harm. Bas****s!!

Actually I do clean my spongeballs with sanitizer. I have found it to be the best just before a show they fluff up real big and round and because its alcohol it air dries very quickly.
The best way to get germs in your body is through touching your mouth, eyes or nose with dirty hands. So if a quick sanitize keeps that from happening and lets me work through an entire flu season then its a very smart thing to do. Even at college they had sanitizer at the doors and asked that everyone sanitize before and after computer class. |

My show cases all include a container of "Scrubs Hand Sanitizer Wipes" used by restaurants, medical and dental offices and the like. They have minimal alcohol content and include a moisturizer and conditioner to keep the hands from drying out. I have no trouble handling cards or coins after using one of the wipes. They have a pleasing smell. My colds have dropped significantly since using them and I no longer have dry, cracking skin issues like I had with other portable sanitizers. Your local restaurant or janitorial supplier should be able to get them for you. I order mine through an orthodontist friend.

If you have the time and it's available, washing your hands with soap and warm water kills more nasties than the hand sanitizers. Several studies have confirmed these findings. Of course if you have no access to running water then the hand sanistizers do a good job.

If you're worried about getting sick, take 1000 mg of Ester-C a day. I watch people all around me get sick, yet I feel fine. I may take 3000 mg in a day, if I start to get a sore throat, but it gets no worse than that.

Working within crowds during cold & flu season, especially around children as many of us do, taking that extra precaution can mean the difference between feeling fine and praying for a speedy death. Whether your personal precautions include flu shots, vitamin supplements, sanitizers, defense tablets and so on - do what works for you and fight the good fight. Unless you have a chubby white duck following you around, being stuck in bed means no cash coming in.
