x2 = xy (multiply by x)
x2 -y2 = xy -y2 (subtract y2)
(x - y)(x + y) = y(x - y) (factor)
x + y = y (divide by [x - y])
2y = y (remember, x = y)
2 = 1 (divide by y)
Of course, there's another division by zero there.

I can’t make that 2 a superscript, but he literally said (phonetically) “Pie are squared.”
