Text goes all over the place, overlapping and making it impossible to read, on all but the gallery and contact page.
On the home page, The top header is a bit to short on the right, making it look odd when placed above the box below it. The picture of the children on the shows page is distorted (stretched). Fix it. You offer 30 min and 40 minute shows. However on the Party Tips page, you say that parents don't need to bother about games, even though there is an extra 90 minutes left of the show after you go. Kids finish eating after 15 minutes, not 90. You need to sort out those tips. Either delete them or suggest some games to use on the page. You cannot make statements like, you won't need any games, because on the day, they'll be blaming you for not planning anything. You have 4 reviews, one of which is a letter (which takes too long to load - needs compressing), and is dated 2/3/04). I take it then, you haven't done a show in 4 years, if that was your last good review? Because that's what the client is thinking. I would drop the entire section, but if you must have one, make up your own reviews since the parents have no way of confirming if there true or not. The middle picture in the gallery failed to load. |

Well,
Since you asked... Do you sell magic shows or baby diapers? Get rid of the Huggies banner by paying for a domain rather than using a free one. It screams amatuer. Some of the text was difficult to read because of strike throughs and some of the pictures were stretched out of proportion. Focus more on client benefits rather than features of your show. You want to portray a professional product and your web site is the potential client's first impression of you. You've fallen a bit short on creating a positive first impression. Hope you don't take this criticism in the wrong way, I absolutely mean it to be constructive. Think about having the site designed by a professional. Lyndel |

I think the comments above are right on. I would add that all the pictures of you (I think there were only 2 maybe 3), show you with balloons. I would focus on taking a number of quality pictures with a solid color backdrop that demonstrate the range of things that you do during a show.

but if you must have one, make up your own reviews since the parents have no way of confirming if there true or not. That is offensive. Is this what you teach people in your party business course? Why not deliver a good show and get genuine recommendation letters? If you can't do that, no amount of deceptive marketing will help. Really, that is pathetic advice. |

I like it. Sure it can be cleaned up a bit but that will happen but I'll tell you why I like it better than some of the glitzy super sites some of these guys have.
First off you tell them what type of magic you do, you tell them the region where you work, and you give contact info....perfect. I never understood why people make fancy sites that say "Biff is the greatest award winning magician you'll ever find and you'll be amazed and pro and this and that and I rule and I know three tricks from ellusionist and am the best magician in the world..." yet they don't say where they are or put up contact info. Why? Cuz they are not really working magicians! They are internet magicians, ol' Jerry there is a real magician and his site, faults and all, is worth money while the fancy great looking ones are often worthless. You rock Jerry, just clean it up a bit and find out how to get people to find your site when the enter key words. I'm so proud of Jerry. |

Well I will start by saying that you should not cut and paste word for word from my site. Even some of the images are mine from shows that I have done. You might want to replace them with images from your own shows.
I do what to thank you for thinking that my site was worth copying the text and some of the images. I don't know what else to say on this. B-Rad

You are being very nice, Brad.

Darn... this made me go change some wording around. All I care about is the image really. At least use your own pictures.

You're kidding, aren't you?? With this web site, I wouldn't let YOU pay ME to come near one of my parties. You steal another performers web text and even his party photo's and you have the cajones to ask others on the Café to take a look and comment?
In the spirit of "Magicians Helping Magicians", I'm serious when I say remove this piece of crap website immediately and go get a job making french frys at McDonalds until you can buy some self-respect and do something on your own instead of doing a pi** poor job of stealing another performers web site. Your site is a disgrace..... |

Ok was looking at the site again... I take back that I would help you. You are pulling the image from my site to display on your site... BAD MOVE! You are using my bandwidth and you are subjected to any image I want to put up. You are lucky I didn't go overboard.

Hi Everyone ,
I have not posted on here for some time now...but I had to when I see how low some people will stoop !! . If you cannot spend the time on your own site to make it as professional as possible , then surely this will be reflected in your show !!...have you cut and pasted that as well ? . Brad I think you are being to kind , you are obviously head and shoulders above this guy and it annoys me so much , when people are so lazy they will not spend the time and effort to be original and HONEST . I had a lot of help with my website from Emazdad and if I was to be HONEST took some of his wording ( with his permission ) from his site . It would not have been half as professional as I hope it is , without his help...all I did was ask , magicians helping magicians . Also as Donald and James mentioned do not make up your references this is bad advice...be honest , the references will come with a good show . Here is my website for you all to have a look at , but please do not copy and paste !!!. Thanks for the link brad...plenty of great information . http://www.magicmontyentertainment.co.uk Regards John . |
