Here's my latest Coin Concentrate routine. I'm in the process of coming up with a whole coin set using this idea. Using different shakers for different coins producing them when I need them vanishing them when I don't things like that.
Hope you like it. Tim http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_8n4czDBfM

Really nice use of the shakers--really gives clarity and meaning to the transpos. I do believe however that at some point you have to disprove the use of the gimmicks--it's the most obvious solution even for laypeople and somehow needs to be dispelled.
thanks, jack Shalom

In the spectators eyes they think I fliped them, showing both sides of the coins and you use gimmicks that are opposite of each other so during the routine you'll see heads and tails of both coins. It mmight be obvious to us but not to the spectator. I hope that might clear up some of your questions on the routine. Thanks for taking the time to view and comment its always welcome. Tim

That is a really interesting concept! I like it. One thing that would add extra impact is the Lupi's Secrete Turnover move taught on David Stones Coin Magic 1 (I believe, the video with the cocktail matrix).

Tim, I loved it! Very well done and great routining and moves. Just wonderful my friend. I think Al Goshman would like seeing the old salt shakers in coin play again. Good job! -Mb

I understand that you did the flip move, and you feel that this move was enough to dispell the first idea/method a laymen might come up with. But let's think about when you did this "dispelling" move - it was right after the production of the 2nd coin. The only effect that occured at that point, was the production of two coins. So you "showed both sides of the coins", before the audience would have even begun to consider the other side of the coins. Some might argue that this is a good thing - that you dispell any methods beforehand. But in this case - I don't think the disproving is strong and obvious enough to cancel out suspiscion later in the routine. Also, your actual action in that "showing both sides" phase, was rubbing the coins - unlike a paddle effect for example, when the actual action is the showing of both sides of the paddle. So my point is that the spectators are probably not really taking notice of the fact that you apparently show both sides of the coin. So when the transpositions begin to occur - I think it is then that the method may start to form in their minds, and I suspect that most people will have no recollection of being shown both sides earlier in the routine. I know that I personally didn't notice that you did any flipping over move earlier, and I had to go back and watch again, to take note. Again, I think this is because your actions and words were not of showing both sides of the coin, but that of rubbing coins on the table. Does that make sense? I think with the productions, vanishes and jumbo coin production, there is plently of magic already in this routine, and maybe one transposition might be enough? Hope some of these thoughts made sense. Good work!

Thanks for the comments and concerns. I'll keep what you said in mind but I feel we might be over thinking this.. I did at one when doing this routine not here I would pick up the coins and turn them together showing both side, but I went away from that because I had no motivation to pick them up. Remember the gaffs are opposite of each other so during the routine people will see heads in silver heads in copper tails in silver and tails in copper. This is not for magicains I don't construct my routines that way. I think taking out the second transpo will help with this. Coins are produced, then transpo's by concentrate, one is crumpled back in the shaker, and the other grows...the end. Thanks a bunch for your thoughts I do listen. Tim

This is very true. As magicians we might know the methods, but laypersons don't. I think we give laypeople more credit than what it's worth. I showed the video to my wife and her response was, "Wow!! How come you can't do that?" (lol)
