I might be getting a gig at Red Lobsters to work the line(they probably don't want table side magic because I was told that doesn't fit their image) on the weekends. I have done a lot of table hopping, very rarely have to work the line because the diners always keep me busy. Not sure if it has been discussed in the forum, nor I had luck finding any. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

I performed at Red Lobster for 2 years about 10 years ago...I played the tables and when the line was very long, I worked the lobby. Tableside magic DOES fit their style...at least it did 10 years ago and they haven't changed much since then.
Work into it slowly but I would try and convince them to also let you play the tables....

If it's busy, sometimes I often work a certain area of the lobby in a stand up style show. Doing stuff from rope magic to the malini egg bag, I've found that to be a lot easier and noticeable (especially by the management) for working the waiting areas. Of course, I've also done close up cards in there too...just make sure that everything can be done in the hands without a table.
I have a sponge ball routine specific to the waiting area, that only uses 2 sponge balls as opposed to 3 or 4. Little things like that help a lot. Best. Steve |

Agree with Lyle, accept the lines for now,but show to the manager you are capacited to work on the tables. In a line a Walkaround sponge balls routine, ambitious, color monte...here the "Criss Angel"situations work...maybe using the hand of spectator as table works well,
Thanks, Hansel!
