This idea has just come to me; I'm thinking of using "little fishy" as a final load for a chop cup routine. I feel this could work, as the gimmick in a chop cup would compliment the "gimmick" (so to speak) in little fishy. In other words, one could in theory load the fish bowl into the cup without any splashing or dead/flopping fish, and the chop cup would clean up the gimmick at the end. For those of you out there who own little fishy, I hope I have made it clear what the idea is without exposing the method.

Anyway, I do have a question regarding the chop cup. I don't use a gimmicked cup myself, I just use a normal cocktail shaker. I was just wondering if the fish bowl would fit inside a gimmicked cup? Because I don't really want to buy the cup and realise the bowl won't fit!

I understand that only a limited number of you will be able to answer this (those of you with "little fishy" and a chop cup), but any help would be appreciated thanks!

That's a very interesting idea, Er. Unfortunately, my Little Fishy bowl won't fit into either of my standard chop cups. We have a factory-shop warehouse nearby that has an acre of glassware. I'll drop in tomorrow and see if I can find a smaller bowl that will fit the gimmick and the cups. I kind of doubt that the chop cup magnet will be powerful enough for the gimmick, though. Still, it opens up some very interesting ideas worth experimenting with. That would be a killer finish.

That idea had occurred to me, as well. The bad news is that the provided fishbowl would not fit into a standard chop cup. The good news is that it would fit into a cocktail shaker. I'd love to see your routine and what you come up with.

Dan Harlan used to produce a chop cocktail shaker - I don't know that it's still on the market, though. I'm still going looking for a Beta Bowl today...that should fit perfectly.

Nope...wasn't me. Maybe it was Dave Harlin? His stuff gets incorrectly credited to me sometimes.

Hi, Jim! I must say I love the effect!

The thing is with a cocktail shaker, it may be too big to take the lid off and then turn it back over cuz the fish might fall out, and even then there's no magnet! I'll play around with it for a while and see how it turns out.

Thanks, Dan... It was Jerry Camaro's Bar Cup that I was thinking of. It was reviewed on the same page of The Magic Menu as Dan's Hot Crossed Ones, and my rat trap mind linked the two.

What a clever idea for the "Little Fishy" trick. I've been using the trick for a long time. Curious what type of fish people use. I've been using tetras, but wondering if any other types might be more resilient.
Oh, sadly, my fishy bowl doesn't fit my chop cup either.
Thanks,
patrick

"We need a bigger cup." Think "Jaws", with the music playing. Get it?
Oh well, I thought it was funny.

The fishbowl would not attach magnetically to the inside at the narrow end of a cocktail shaker. However, it could be used like a final load. I use goldfish or feeder fish because they are small and cheap.
