I bought two Eureka stands from Bill Groome at Madhatter. Good price, excellent service. The stands are great and easy to attach to any top with the included flanges.

I used the blueprint in Mark Wilson's Complete Course and built my own.
I have modified it quite a bit so that it's like my office on the street.
Fold-out shelf for cards.
Hooks for rope, scissors, bag of spoons.
Shelf for other props.
It has held up remarkably well and cost me next to nothing.
Plus the whole thing folds flat and transports easily.
So sorry I soiled your precious eyes.

We just got more of the Eureka stands in. They seem to be a perfect fit for street work. Everyone that got one from us loves them.

They do cost more than the piano stand, but are more sturdy - thicker gauge metal and adjust higher ect...

There is a combo set that comes with a casetop too.

My other suggestion is to check a restaurant supply store for taller waitstaff tray holders - they make these very inexpensive. Be aware - they are not as stable on streets...

For me, stability is #1... I don't want my table rocking and swaying.
