Michael's Web site says NBC will air the 2nd and 3rd two-hour audition shows on June 24th and July 1st.

Just received an e-mail from Michael Harrison. He will definitely be appearing on AGT tomorrow, Tuesday, July 22nd. He is a very talented vent.

...my guess? Cry Baby or another vent gag with an audience member. If he does not get anyone from the audience, then he must have forgotten what Pierce told him

I doubt Michael will use the mask based on the lawsuit threats over using them by Ronn Lucas. Even Terry Fator mentioned at VentHaven that he had paid Lucas for the rights to use masks in his show. While Lucas may or may not win, he has the money to tie performers up in court and potentially bankrupt them.

Good clip, thanks for posting the link so I didn't have to sit through the whole show. Conrats to Michael - he deserves the break and I wish him success!

Exactly what I had in mind regarding the mask

I was hoping he would capitalize on the comment of Piers regarding audience helper...maybe he can do the Axtell Big Baby

or... my next guess would be his Ana Conda but no helper there

But the guy is so talented, he might just surprize us all in the next round. I certainly hope he makes it.

I have doubts that AGT will allow another vent to make it. That is in no way a slam on Michael, he's great, I don't believe the show's producers will allow him to succeed. I wish him success - and no matter what the outcome, he will definitely raise attention to his career.

That's the very sad truth Tom...unless, he wows the judges and the crowd with something really different...

I thought it was an excellent performance, especially considering time restraints. I'm sure we were all amused at the judges' comments about the originality of the audience-member-as-puppet idea. Hey, it got Michael to the next round.

I agree that AGT's producers probably don't want the show to become AGV. But let's hope Michael's obvious talent keeps him going!

Last night a vent used an audience member as the puppet..He was sent on to Vegas...

I was surprised that one of the judges said he had not seen it.

Many of you(me) have been doing it for years.

This summer I also added the Steven Knowles paper mask...

For those who aren't from my part of the world wouldn't know but his routine for the mask was almost identical to one done by my mentor Peter Roslton for years. After the show, I got a call from his family saying "He used Dad's bit".

Michael Harrison is originally from Victoria BC and I am sure watched Peter growing up. I hope it was an accidental influence rather than a direct steal.

It was the bit without the mask but using the lines about "what did you eat?" and then "What do you have to say" BURP"

Peter did that for years with these lines
"How many hot dogs did you eat"

"12! Wow, and how many pop?"

"12 hot dogs and 12 pop? What do you have to say for yourself"
"BURP"

It would have just been nice to contact the family and ask about using his bit - that's all.

The belch isn't that far a stretch. While I've never heard of Peter before your mention, I've heard similar gags before. Harris is a good example of thinking along those lines.

Michael's from Canada, so there is a chance that he heard Peter do the routine and it was incorporated into his presentation later. It could be an example of parallel thinking. Another possibility is he talked with Peter about it long ago and was encouraged. (So he may already have had permission even if the family didn't realize it.)

Since you are obviously close to the family, I can understand you'd be bothered by this. I recommend you contact him directly. He's always been very friendly when we've communicated and I'm sure he wouldn't want any mis-understanding of this nature.

I may do that. I know that from how upset the family was, he hadn't asked.

I guess it could be parellel thinking but not only is he from Canada, he is from near here and at least was INFLUENCED by Peter.

I wish I had video of Peter to show you, but we haven't been able to locate any. The TV station long ago erased the masters, and earlier shows were live.

Peter was huge in our part of the country, but I understand if you hadn't heard of him.
