I'm thinking a routine in my head but have come stuck at this point

if I was to remove the cap from a deodorant can and super glue the tube, then put a tiny blob over spray hole,

if I then tried to spray it, obviously the super glue wouldnt let it, would it blow up in my hands? or would I just be able to press the button to no spray? and is that the same for all presurised cans? i.e spray paint, whipped cream ???

cheers guys

If the glue stuck, then it would probably not spray, if it didn't then it likely would. If all you want is a can that won't spray, why not empty one and use that. In fact if you do, there's usually more gas than product which produces the spray sound with no visable spray. What is your intended use for it?

The reason I don't want it emptied is the weight issue!

Think a about pressure gradients. High pressure wants equate itself by escaping somewhere with lower pressure.

If the glue stuck, there would be no reason why it would blow up. I mean, picture the can standing by itself on a dresser. It isn't blowing up just because no one is spraying anything from it. Smile

Sigh....

I'm trying to word it in a way that makes sense. Smile

What I guess I am trying to say is that the can won't blow up simply because the pressure inside it isn't that great... it is high, but it isn't enough to blow up. If companies packaged cans like that any slight blockage in the nozzle would be enough to destabilise the can and make it combust. Comprehendo? Smile

Don't mind me mate... I type something. Then re-read it. That I retype it out again... then I retype yet again. Only on the third try does my comment make sense Smile

Glad we got that sorted out Smile

I've had can's of spray paint that got clogged with dried paint. They didn't explode when I tried to use them. They just didn't spray... simple as that I guess.
